So one night, 6 of the contestants met up for our challenge. Here was their instructions:

Our challenge to you is to craft a frame to hold your favorite pageant photo as well as a card for your mom.  You will have 1 hour to cover your frame and embellish it with buttons, bows, quotes, and more.  Once that hour is up, you will have 15 additional minutes to create a card for mom.  The only requirements are that you must use a “textured” page somewhere on the frame. This is a print that is all about the texture and less about the hearts, birds, stars, etc. And you also must use a tag on your card.)

And for one hour, they crafted! We loved how excited and creative these girls were! Reminds me of when I was their age, I loved crafting and especially scrapbooking photos of me and my friends.

Now here is the fun part. We have photos of all the frames that the girls made. We want YOU to leave a comment on this blog post and tell us the NUMBER of your favorite frame. By doing this, you will be entering yourself into a paper stack giveaway along with voting for your favorite project! Two winners will be chosen on Monday.

LOVE what they came up with! Will be hard to pick a favorite :)

School's Out For Summer!

I just can't believe it! Another year is behind us at the ol' Madsen household. The boys are SO excited to have that summer freedom and to sleep in :) I am excited to have some laid back time at home while I work and have my boys at home with me. During the summer, I seem to work a little more at night so I can take the boys to do some stuff during the day once in a while. I am so grateful for a job I can do at home and have it be flexible around my boys. Love this company!

Growing up right before my eyes!

This week has been full of fun things for the boys at school. Including "May Day" which is our towns traditional end of the year program. The kids work so hard to learn all their songs and dances.

And the 5th Graders actually do their dance around the Maypole. Love my little small town's traditions!

Here are a few "school" themed projects to end the day with! I swear August will be here before we know it and we will all be in school mode once again :)

Have a wonderful weekend and enjoy your Memorial Day on Monday. I will be back here on Tuesday!

First Look: The Green Stack

Good morning! Hope everyone is enjoying their week. It's busy here. Today is my boy's big May Day performance at school. Basically the end of the year performance from all of the classes. Then tomorrow is Jr. Olympics and Friday they are done! Where does time go?! I will have a 1st grader and 3rd grader in just a few days. I better enjoy every minute :) I will post some pictures on Friday.

Thank you to all who participated in our awesome blog hop on Monday! I loved all of the projects and hope that you did too. We have a few winners that I want to announce!

Lisa B.
Beverly Jordan
Ann Robbins

If you are a winner, email me at and I will get your prize right out to you!

Wow, oh wow. You guys are going to flip over this! I am so excited to tell you we have updated a few of our most popular stacks! In less than a month, you will see new, updated versions of our Green Stack, Far East Stack, Linen Closet Stack and Citrus Stack. These are some of our classics and you won't believe that we made them even better!

I get to show you the {first look} at The Green Stack all shiny and new :)

There is something totally awesome about this stack...hold on you will see!

When I saw this paper, I knew what my first project would be with it. We love to camp and I have always wanted a fun little journal to keep track of where we camp and who we are with. I couldn't wait to get out my paper and an old, plan journal and cover it with this darling paper.

I used my Silhouette to cut out the frame and "Happy Camper". And can you see what's so special about this stack? It has a grid texture unlike anything I have ever seen. The dimension on this paper is just incredible. I LOVE IT!!!

I used a sponge and an ink pad and swiped some ink across the top just so you could see the texture a little better. And seriously, these little bears are just too cute.

This is the first page in the journal. I think this will be a great way to document our adventures. And I know the boys will love looking back and seeing all of the fun places we have been.

This post is also a part of the 100 Days of Tombow! I used my Tombow adhesive and markers on this project and love their efforts in raising money for the Council for Art Education. Way to step up guys!

Keep an eye out for a video showing you the rest of the revamped stacks that are coming out at Jo-Ann. I think you will just LOVE them!

Happy Wednesday, see you again on Friday which is my boy's last day of school! Oh boy....

DCWV / Therm O Web Summer Lovin' Blog Hop!

Welcome to the DCWV/Therm O Web Summer Lovin’ Blog Hop!

Today, the design teams from DCWV and Therm O Web have brought together all the things we love about summer! The designers are have combined paper from DCWV’s Sunday Afternoon and Everlasting Love Stacks, together with a variety of adhesives, mists and other fantastic products from Therm O Web!

The hop starts right here so get ready for LOTS of inspiration as you click through the blog hop. And don't forget to leave comments as you go to enter in our giveaway!

For my project, I used Everlasting Love which is out at Jo-Ann right now.

High School Graduation Season is in full swing in my little town! It is so exciting to see these young kids SO READY to move on into the crazy, real world. We have a couple of these kiddos that we are really close to and wanted to do something special for them. These gifts have been a HUGE hit!

I used the Everlasting Love Stack to decorate an empty 2 liter soda bottle that had been washed out. This stack is a black and white stack that is so fun to add any color to. Our high school colors are red, black and white so this stack was perfect. I used my Silhouette to cut out the paper and threw in some of the red paper from the Metallic Brights Stack. I used the Therm O Web tape runner to stick pretty much everything on! Love that thing!

I had everyone in the family write a little note on the bottle to the graduate. The boys thought that was lots of fun plus it meant I didn't have to make an extra card! When the boys delivered these they announced exactly  how much money was in the bottle since they helped me count and stuff them! They really loved being involved :)
Be sure to visit all the blogs today, and leave comments for your chance to win!  Two lucky readers will win a set of 3 stacks from DCWV, and an additional reader will receive an amazing gift pack from Therm O Web!   The more you comment, the more chances you have to win!

Now, head on over to Sara to see what kind of spring craftiness they have in store!

And in case you get lost along the way :)

Baby Boy Joy

Whoot, whoot! We all made it to Friday! What is it about May? I swear it's busier than December for Mamas out there! The boys have been busy with baseball FOUR NIGHTS a week. That alone has been an adjustment but we are loving it :) My boys have 1 week of school left and even then, the days are full of fun things and celebrations. I can't believe another year is behind us, they are growing up so fast! I am excited to do some fun things this weekend with them, including a little camping unless it rains us out! I hope all of you are doing something fun too :)

Have you seen the darling Baby Boy Stack out at Michaels right now?? I have been doing some baby shopping this of course! And it always reminds me how fun it is to have a baby. And I only have baby boys so that is all I know. This stack makes me happy to be a mama of boys!

Check out these fun projects...

I seriously love this layout made by Karla. The hot air balloons and chevron clouds are just awesome! And that sweet little guys face? Priceless!! Check out more of her layout HERE.

Britt used the stack in such a creative way for her layout. I love the diaper pins in the background and the addition of the fun baby words. Did you see all of the cute little black and white photos on the bottom? I think this would make a fun Stack-a-holic Sketch! HERE is more on Britt's fun layout.

Hilde created this great card with the Baby Boy Stack. I love it when there are fun words and phrases on a sheet in the stack to cut out and use as card greetings. No need for stamps or printers! Hilde's card is featured HERE on her blog.

And these are too fun! Thomisia decorated these simple brown paper bags and made little goodie bags. You easily use these are party favor bags for a shower or party. The colors are so bright and fun. See more of her project HERE.

And don't forget we have winner from Wednesday's blog post! Two of you will be winning one of the fun Kidosaurus Stacks! Email me your addresses and I will get them right to you.
Congrats to:

Just adorable!! I have lots of dinosaur pictures for my son and 2 nephews! They each went through the dinosaur phase ... fun!

I love the phrase: Rawr means I love you! How gorgeous!!!
