Halloween Eve

I can't believe that tomorrow is Halloween! I love our traditions on Halloween. Kids dressing up at school. A parade down the street at the end of the school day. Trick or Treating. Soup & Homemade Bread. Lots of chocolate ;) Such fun traditions! I better eat salad and all veggies to make up for tomorrow. Yes, I am one of those who totally sneak candy every time the door bell rings! And we get LOTS of kids in our neighborhood!

I have a few last Halloween projects to share with you!

I love this place setting made by DT Member Britt! I think anyone would love to sit down at this table. She used the awesome "Bewitched Stack" for her table setting.

I love all of the little details that Britt included on this set up. You can see even more photos HERE on her blog post!

Britt also made this great layout using the "Bewitched Stack". I love how the purple paper is used which is not usually traditional Halloween. But I love the page and think it's really fun!

See more of Britt's page HERE!

DT Stack-a-holic Sara used the Bewitched Stack and Blue Moon Beads to make these awesome necklaces! She rolled paper to make the beads and mixed them up with other beads.

I just love seeing this project and thinking of all the things that you really can do with paper! So clever :) See how Sara made her necklace and paper beads on her blog HERE.

I hope everyone has a wonderful day on Halloween Eve! I'll show you a picture tomorrow of what my little boys chose to dress up as this year ;) Very cute!!!

TGIF! What a great week this has been! I hope you guys have had as much fun as we have :)

Today is the last day of our awesome Scor-Pal Blog Hop! Thank you Scor-Pal for being such a great supporter of DCWV! I have our last 2 projects to show you. Just make sure that you have entered in our giveaway by commenting on each blog post this week. I will be picking 2 big winners to receive a box full of stacks!! Scor-Pal is doing a giveaway on their blog too so be sure to stop by there!

Design Team Member Sara used the Scor-Pal to create a gorgeous shadow box with three sections. The box can hang by ribbon from the top.

I just can't believe this shadowbox was made out of paper! I love it, such a great gift item. Thank you, Sara! If you want to see more of her project, check out her blog HERE.

DT Member Jan created a shadow box, as well. Jan's box shelters a votive and features a thoughtful quote. Jan also created a card fit for the season.

What a beautiful project to feature a great quote or even a photo! Jan's blog HERE will be the place to find more details on this project :)

Thank you to our entire Design Team for their amazing projects this week! Autumn Melody Stack has NEVER looked so good!!!!

Day 4: DCWV/Scor-Pal Blog Hop

Thursday is here! And you know what that means...one more day til FRIDAY :) Even tho I really don't want this week to end, we have had so much fun on the blog with Scor-Pal!

We have more projects to share with you today that use the Scor-Pal and the DCWV Autumn Melody Stack.

DT Stack-a-holic Britt created a beautiful wall-hanging that reads "give thanks." She used the Scor-Pal to create the many rosettes that embellish the panels.

This project would be so fun to display at a family get-together or even Thanksgiving! And you really could use any phrase or word for the banner to fit a specific theme. See more of Britt's great banner on her blog HERE.

DT Member Hilde created a darling card. She used the Scor-Pal to dry emboss the diamond pattern in her green cardstock.

I love how Hilde used the Scor-Pal to make a simple pattern on the card. It doesn't have to always be used for folding! See more of Hilde's card on her blogpost HERE

If you missed my news on yesterday's blog post, be sure to go back and look to see how you can enter in our 2 big giveaways! And make sure you hop on over to Scor-Pal's Blog to see what their team made today!

Have a fabulous day!

And now let's see what gorgeous creations our team has for us today!

DT Member Karen created a layout with a fantastic interactive feature. The bottom photo unfolds to reveal more photos. Karen also used the Scor-Pal to add score marks to the paper ribbon element.

I love this interactive layout! Just when you think you have seen it all, there is a little surprise :)

You can get a closer look at Karen's page on her blog HERE

Design Team Member Rita followed the instructions for the "circus tent" in "Scor, Fold, Create" to create this beautiful birdhouse. She embellished the house with bird charms.

Day 1: DCWV/Scor-Pal Blog Hop

Hello everyone! I have been so excited for this week to get here! We have some {fall fun} in store for you. All this week, you will get all kinds of amazing inspiration from projects using our DCWV Autumn Melody Stack and one of my favorite tools in my craft room!

We are doing a week long blog hop with Scor-Pal!

This handy little tool has been in my craft room FOREVER I swear! I just love Diana Crick who is the founder of the company. She is one of my sweet friends that I always have to hug when I am at CHA :)

All this week, we will be showing you projects from our awesome Design Team that they created with the tool and the Autumn Melody Stack (available at Jo-Ann Stores)

DT Member Amanda created an accordion-fold mini album. Each fold holds a pull-out page with a bejeweled tab.

How cute would this album be with Thanksgiving photos or even turned into a gratitude journal? See more of Amanda's project on here blog HERE

DT Member Dayna created a gorgeous card set. She used the Scor-Pal to dry emboss a frame pattern around the top mat of each card.

I just love these cards!!! Maybe one of them will show up in my mailbox ;) Whoever receives them will LOVE them :) See Dayna's cards up close and personal on her blog HERE

DT Stack-a-holic Tessa created an accordion-fold decor piece for her mantel. Using the Scor-pal to create the folds, she decorated each panel in tags, papers, embellishments and a letter from the word "thanks".

I love the flowers and the delicate feathers on this project. So pretty! You can see more of this project on Tessa's blog post HERE.

Don't forget to head over to the Scor-Pal Blog to see what their team did with the same supplies!!

See you back here tomorrow...have a wonderful day!

All Eyes on Forever & Always

Well, another weekend is gone and another Monday is here! I hope each of you enjoyed your fall weekend. I feel like I say the same thing every Monday about how I spent my weekend. Football, friends, family and food! It's so funny to me but that is pretty much our life in the fall :) Both of my boys are playing Flag Football so we are having lots of fun watching that too!

I have some winners from last week's blog comments! Thank you to everyone who leaves feedback, especially those who left comments on Friday's video post. I love hearing what you think of those new releases! Today's 2 winners will receive some DCWV Halloween goodies! Woop, woop!

Congratulations to:

Thanks for this. I was beginning to think that Gertie was made of paper! And I just couldn't figure out how! lololol
Big hugs, Jess

AND

I'm loving these new stacks! I don't know how you guys come up with so many great ideas!?! Can't wait to see them in person.

Email me your addresses and I will get your prize sent off to you right away!
{erinmadsen@diecutsinc.com}

Today I have some GORGEOUS cards to show you using the Forever & Always Stack that is out at Michaels right now. I just love this stack! Classic for sure :)

DT Member Britt Bass blew me away with this card. I just love it!!! The floral print on the paper just looks so pretty next to her bow and stamp. Love the colors too!

More views of Britt's gorgeous card can be found HERE.

DT Member Rita used an awesome technique using Craft Gelatos and embossing powder. The patterned paper is a glossy white in stack but Rita totally put a new twist on it!

See how Rita changed the look of the paper HERE on here blog.

And both of these fun cards were made by DT Member Karen Hanson. The great thing about a classic black and white stack is you really can use it for any kind of sentiment on a card. Karen made similar cards but used one as a Sympathy card and the other as an Anniversary card.

Both of Karen's cards can be seen in my detail HERE on her blog!

And last but not least, we have a gorgeous card from DT Member Amanda! Love the feathers, love the background paper and of course the flower. Such a fun card to receive!

Check out Amanda's blog post HERE to learn more about how to make this card.

Great job ladies! Make sure to stop by Michaels to see the Forever & Always Stack in person!

Have a wonderful Monday everyone!

Tutorial: Bead Spiders

Hello! I hope everyone is having a wonderful week :) Mine has been busy x 10 it feels like! Today will be great catch up day for me. It's so nice to have one or two of those in the middle of a crazy week.

Fall and Halloween are in full swing now! I have a fun tutorial for you today, one that you have been begging and begging for ever since July! You fell in love with our Beaded Spiders in our CHA booth and now you can make your own! I think they are just so adorable to go along with your Halloween decor. So print off these instructions, grab some Blue Moon Beads and make your own little beaded creatures!!

Bead Spiders

SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • BLUE MOON BEADS: ASSORTED SEED BEADS, LARGE GLASS BEADS, MEDIUM STRING BEADS, ETC. IN HALLOWEEN THEMES AND COLORS
  • BLACK JEWELRY WIRE
  • JEWELRY TOOLS (NEEDLE NOSE PLIERS AND WIRE TRIMMERS)
  • RULER

DIRECTIONS:

1.    CUT 1 4” SECTION OF WIRE AND 4 8” SECTIONS OF WIRE.

2.    TAKE 2 LARGE (OR 1 LARGE AND 1 MEDIUM) GLASS BEADS AND STRING THEM ONTO THE CENTER OF THE 4” SECTION OF WIRE.  TAKE YOUR NEEDLE NOSE PLIERS AND, GRABBING A HOLD OF THE 1ST END, TWIST THE WIRE INTO A SPIRAL SHAPE, STOPPING AT THE OUTSIDE OF THE 1ST BEAD. BEND THE SPIRAL UP AGAINST THE BEAD TO HOLD IT IN PLACE.  REPEAT WITH THE OTHER END. *NOTE: IF THE WIRE STILL DOESN’T HOLD, PUT A SEED BEAD IN BETWEEN THE LARGER BEADS AND THE END OF THE WIRE.

3.    TAKE YOUR 1ST PIECE OF 8” WIRE.  TWIST THIS TWICE AROUND THE WIRE THAT IS IN BETWEEN YOUR LARGER BEADS, LEAVING EQUAL AMOUNTS ON EITHER SIDE. REPEAT WITH YOUR REMAINING PIECES OF WIRE.

4.    BEGIN STRINGING YOUR SEED BEADS AND/OR ROUND BEADS ONTO THE EACH OF THE LEGS, TWISTING THEM TWICE TO HOLD THEM INTO PLACE.

5.    ONCE YOUR LEGS ARE FINISHED, BEND THEM AS DESIRED AND PUT OUT TO DISPLAY.

6.    REPEAT AS DESIRED.

DIY Chalkboard Skeleton

Do you remember this pretty little thing from our CHA booth in July?

Well "Gertie the Skeleton" has become quite popular! I will be on a local Utah morning show tomorrow morning to show how to make one of your very own! For those local to Utah, watch Studio 5 on Tuesday, 10/9 at 11am on KSL Channel 5!

*Update! Watch the TV segment HERE!

I will post a link to the segment when it is online. But the concept is pretty simple.

Get a Skeleton.
Paint it with chalkboard paint.
Doodle on her with a chalkboard pen.
Jazz her up with some jewelry.
Make her a paper crown!

Here is a template for the crown, you can make all kinds of crowns with this template and by only using one piece of 12x12 paper.

I will post a link to the segment when I get it! I just love Halloween and hope we inspire you to create fun holiday elements for your day!

Have a wonderful day :)
