TLC's Craft Wars

I am SOOOO excited for tonight!! It feels like forever since I heard about this awesome new show on TLC called Craft Wars! It debuts tonight so tune in or set your DVR!

Here's the scoop: The darling Tori Spelling hosts a major craft challenge! 3 crafters are given a challenge having to use certain materials. Then they have access to the Michaels Closet which has tons of supplies (including LOTS of DCWV Stacks! So fun!) They have a time limit to complete their project and then they are judged! The winner receives $10,000!

Have you ever seen a cuter judge than the one and only Jo Pearson from Michaels who also happens to be my great friend?! I'm so excited for her big debut tonight. I also hear that Christy Thomlinson will be one of the 3 participants tonight which makes me even MORE excited!!

Check your local listings for tonight's big debut. And I'm sure you can catch some repeats throughout the week!!

Type & Homespun LOVE

Hello everyone! Thanks for stopping by the blog today!! I am back from filming "Beads, Baubles & Jewels" with Katie Hacker where I represented out Blue Moon Beads.

As always, I had a blast! I love traveling, meeting new people and representing the company that I love! Sorry, the photo is a bit blurry but I promise it's us ;) And even better, I had a great weekend with my cute little family. I hope yours was the same!

First, I want to pick a couple winners from last week's blog comments! It pays to interact with us by leaving your comment on the blog!

Love these layouts and new stacks! That Homespun paper looks gorgeous. Have a blast in Cleveland!

AND

Got to get me some Gilded Orchard! And I might just pick up the Stardust stack...I could potentically see some boy pages with that (ie: Star Wars or some other space theme).

Email me your address {erinmadsen@diecutsinc.com} and I will get your prizes right to you!

I have some fun new projects to show you using two of our new stacks that are out at Jo-Ann Stores NOW! I know lots of you have already picked yours up!! The Homespun Stack & the A Type of Art Stack are both fabulous!!

These first 3 projects were created by Sarah Hamer aka Pink Cricut :) We love her work and her support for us at DCWV!

This card uses the A Type of Art Stack. I love how simple it and love the use of the & paper! Did you notice all of the little & in the patterned paper?? So cute for this wedding card. Check out a video HERE for a great tip to make the little banners!

The next two project were made with the new Homespun Stack which is also at Jo-Ann Stores right now. She used her Silhouette to cut out the USA and the cute  little states. Darling!

And check out this cute little gift card holder! I love how it shows the awesome texture of the cardstock which coordinates with our Homespun Stack. The textured cardstock is totally new for us and I love it! Hope to see more of it too!

You can see a video HERE on how to make this gift card holder.

This card using the Homespun Stack and the following page using A Type of Art Stack were created by Mou Saha who is a contributing writer for Creating Keepsakes! You can see more views of these projects on here blog HERE

If you haven't seen these two stacks at Jo-Anns yet, go and pick them up and fall in love! Our designers nailed it once again with these designs.

Don't forget Wednesday is the last day to enter in June's Stack-a-holc Template Challenge!! And Saturday is the deadline for our Design Team entries! Busy, busy! Can't wait to see what you create!

Just Some Gorgeous Paper!!!

Yes.

Just some gorgeous paper here on the blog today. I am just loving all of these new stacks! Did you see THIS VIDEO that I posted on Monday featuring the new Stardust, Homespun, A Type of Art & Guilded Orchard Stacks? Seriously in love with each of them for different reasons!

Check out these layouts created by Susan Stringfellow! Closer views of them can be found on her amazing blog, she is so talented!!

Homespun Stack
I love these colors! Just makes me happy. And this stack has an awesome ribbed texture on it which is 100% new for us! The cardstock in the matching cardstock stack is ribbed too!

Guilded Orchard Stack
I love the rich colors in this stack. The birds and apples are so adorable! Love the asian flowers and all of the gold accents. I am so addicted to anything GOLD right now!

Stardust Stack
This stack is going to be so fun for so many pages! The colors are gorgeous...I am thinking Star Wars, Star Trek, Epcot Center, Harry Potter. The list goes on! This stack totally fills a niche that we really needed in the paper industry!

A Type of Art
Another great color scheme! Love all the lettering, newsprint and monograms. There are so many possibilites for titles in this stack! Love all of the alphabet cards too. You must see this one :)

These stacks will be out at Jo-Anns starting next week!! I didn't tease you for too long right?! ;)

I am off today to Cleveland to film Beads, Baubles & Jewels featuring our Blue Moon Beads! I love doing the on-air presentations. Totally my THING!! Makes me happy! But I'll be back and will be here on the blog on Friday! See you then :)

Video: New Stacks at Jo-Anns!

Hey everyone! I hope everyone had a great weekend! Mine was fab...we had lots of warm weather here in Utah so I did lots of swimming and tanning with the kiddos, yummy Mexican food, a fun baby shower for my cousin...just a good weekend of hanging out basically :) Love those kinds! I did work quite a bit this weekend too! Which is totally OK...when you work from home, it seems like you just work whenever you can including weekends. It works for me :)

This weekend was FUN work too. Did you hear the big news?! No, I am not pregnant ;)

We are looking for our very first design team!! Get all of the details HERE on how you can enter. The deadline is June 30th. We will be announcing the new team at CHA on July 16th which will be very fun :) But it makes for a tight deadline so get going on your submissions! I have already been getting lots of questions so I wanted to answer them here so everyone can see.

Do we have to have a blog to apply?
We really want our design team to each have their own blogs that they maintain. You don't have to have a blog to apply but if you are chosen, we would like you to start one then.

I live overseas and would REALLY like to apply. Any way you can lift your international restriction?
I talked to Bossman yesterday about this and after lots of discussion, we decided YES, we want our International Stack-a-holics to apply! The issue we were faced with is high costs of shipping products overseas. Our paper is HEAVY and I want to spoil our team which means high shipping costs that we will be paying. But this is something we will take on because we really want to keep this open to everyone!!! ***I have changed the original blog post to allow international submissions.

What is an "off the page" project?
Basically it is anything that is not a layout or a card! Think altered items, home decor projects, gift items, holiday items, mini albums, party set ups....HERE is a link to Michaels website to their "Off the Page Idea" Category which may help :)

Can the projects we submit be projects we have already made?
Yes! Whatever you feel is your best work which represents you as a crafter the best way!

Will you compensate design team members that get their projects (using your products) published in print magazines?
This is something I will have to discuss with Bossman. There really are only a few print magazines left sadly :) If we decide to do this I will let the design team know once they are chosen.

I hope this helps clear up some confusion! I am already getting submissions and I am SOOO excited!!! This is going to be so much fun!

And if the excitement level wasn't high enough already... HERE is a new video showing you 4 new lines that will be new to Jo-Anns! Stardust, Homespun, A Type of Art & Guilded Orchard will be out as early as NEXT WEEK! I think I said in the video the end of July but I meant the end of June ;) Hey, I'm not perfect hee hee!

Be sure and leave me a comment telling me what your favorites are!! I love reading your favorite picks!

Have a fabulous day, everyone!

Happy Friday, my friends!! It has been an exciting week on the blog! Lots of giveaways...and we are finishing off the week with one more! I want to introduce you to a great publication that we work with that you may not be familiar with!

In 2005, two enthusiastic ladies in Canada (Jackie Ludlage and Katharina

Doyle) created Canadian Scrapbooker magazine. Their quarterly "book" is chock-a-block with inspirational projects, stories, and technique-rich step by steps. Plus, it is gorgeous! Their loyal fan-base looks forward to each issue with avid anticipation. It is a magazine that readers have come to collect and cherish for years.

Throughout the past 8 years, Jackie and Katharina have created the perfect balance between being a mom and loving the work they do, working from their home-based offices. They are sisters in the truest sense, with family and friends-old and new-cheering them on. These two ladies had a dream, and together with a strong team, they made it happen, while creating an exciting new world for themselves along the way!

So now that you have know a little more about their great company, we would love for you to enter our giveaway! Head over to their Canadian Scrapbooker Facebook Page and "like" them!
