I just got home from Chicago!! It was a great week for so many of us in the craft industry, but I am definitely exhausted!!! We wish all of you were there with us...so we have a fun giveaway planned for all of YOU!
We also want to welcome all our friends and fans from Creating Keepsakes—another one of our favorite scrapbooking publications. We’re so glad you could join us!
To give you a few fun facts about Creating Keepsakes, we went straight to the source! When we asked about the history and continued goals of the magazine, Editor-in-Chief Jennafer Martin shared the following:
What year was the magazine first published? 1996
How has the magazine changed over the years? In its first five years of publication, Creating Keepsakes grew from a simple publication put together in the basement of our founding editor, Lisa Bearnson, to a thriving brand with regular and special issues, books, and a website. We were also able to create and implement an archival program, scrapbooking kits and contests, and much more! Also, by 2003, both an Australian and a Japanese edition of Creating Keepsakes were being published for our international fans.
What are your current goals for the magazine? Our main goal is to help the readers showcase their memories by using fun scrapbooking projects as inspiration, by implementing new tips and techniques, and through solutions for the different issues that scrapbookers encounter each day. For us, that includes showing how to scrapbook a life story (i.e., easy ways to preserve your memorabilia), how to organize and use the supplies around you effectively and in fun, new ways, how to continually improve photography, and the ways in which the latest products and trends will help the reader accomplish their creative goals.
