I can't believe it is May and the end to another year of school for my boys. Time is just so weird! In some ways, it feels like I have been a mama for 50 years. And in other ways it feels like 50 days. I love seeing my boys learn and grow and they have been so lucky to have amazing teachers so far!
Here is my little guy with his preschool teacher (who happens to be my next door neighbor and close friend! Even better, no driving to school!) They had their Circus Preschool Program yesterday and my guy was the announcer. That's why he is in a suit in 80 degree weather :) His teacher is amazing and is the reason why my boys are such great readers. She is patient and kind and her preschoolers adore her.
I always like to end the school year with a big "THANK YOU" since our teachers put in so much time and work into sometimes a thankless job. I always want my boys to appreciate their teachers and make sure they show them!
This year, I grabbed 2 of the reusable cups that you see EVERYWHERE!! They are awesome! Keep your drinks cold and are super cute too :) I used the 180 Stack Spring Fling & Summer Days. If you haven't picked this stack up, you really need to! It's one of the best all around great 180's in my opinion. I have been using it a ton lately and the prints are adorable!
For the inside of the mug, I cut strips of paper and used the open edge of my scissors to curl the paper. I put a gift card to our local drink place inside so the teachers can fill up their cup with their favorite summer drink! Cherry limeade, anyone?
I made a rosette using 2 pieces of 1.25 inch x 12 inch paper and i scored them every 1/2 inch. Put them together and added a punch of Glitzy Glitter paper to the front. The stack has a fun sheet of paper with all of the words and phrases so I cut the "Sunshine" and "Chillin'" phrases from that and added a few more alphabet stickers. Finished it off with some ribbon and that was it!
I think both teachers will love their cute drinks! I have also seen this done where you fill the cup with the little packets of Crystal Light. That is also a good idea :) As much as I hate the school year coming to an end and "time marching on", I gotta say BRING ON SUMMER!!!
Have a great day! See you back here on Friday!
