Recollections Video!

New stacks.

Is there really anything better? I promised you a big video today! It was so big, I had to edit it down a bit to get it under the 10 minute max time on You Tube!!! It's just a few seconds under :) I told you...lots and lots of new goodies!!!

These stacks may have a different look on the cover. Basically, these stacks are designed & produced by us at DCWV and sold under Michael's own private brand, Recollections. We were honored to be chosen to represent them in this way! To us, it means they love working with us as a company and they LOVE our designs :) What could be more flattering?? 

In THIS video, I share LOTS of new stacks. Halloween, Christmas & some great general crafting stacks! And there are even a few project kits! More of these will be coming, LOVE them :) Some of these products are probably at your local Michael's Stores right now. Others will be coming out within the next few weeks.

Stacked Flower Ornament Tutorial

Happy Monday!! Can you believe it's going to be SEPTEMBER this week?! 

I can hardly wait for Saturday to get here because it's the first college football game of the season! I've been waiting allllll year long! We are pretty much am obsessed with BYU Football in this home :)

I think beading can be a fun hobby. My sister makes alot of things, but I have only done a few. I think it is hard to put things together to make them look nice, but there are so many great examples and products out there, that I am feeling a little more confident. :) I may have to try it again!

Oh thank heavens for FRIDAYS!!! First weekend of the school year! Weekends are so much more meaningful once school starts, right?!

As you know, Blue Moon Beads is the newest addition to our DCWV Inc. Family! It was so fun to be at CHA and see all of the bead and jewelry displays in OUR booth!! It was a whole new world for us. Yes, we have seen every sheet of paper come through our company for years and years...but BEADS? A whole new world :)

Here are a few of the jewelry pieces from our CHA booth made with Blue Moon Beads! 

This is the necklace that got me interested in learning to bead! I kept taking it off the display board and wearing it around the booth :) I NEED to make it!

Exciting day! One of our DCWV products was featured on the Today Show!! Man, we are big time!! ;)

Fall Home Decor!

Hey guys!! Hope you are enjoying your week!! School is in full swing here...my little guy is loving 1st grade! Except they only give them 10 minutes to eat lunch and he can't finish...sounds quick to me! If that's his only complaint than I guess things are good!

I had a lot of fun making this project! All of these new fall stacks are SO getting me excited for my favorite season to be here!!!

I used the new Harvest Gathering Stack! Love these colors and foil accents!!! Probably my favorite Fall stack in years :)

I got a bunch of sticks and pulled the leaves off. Kept my 4 year old busy for a good while! I cut out two different leave sizes with my Cricut and punched a small hole in the top of the leave.

Strung the leaves onto the sticks. Tied some bows with orange/white bakers twine. 

A perfect centerpiece for your table for fall! I plan on taking it to Thanksgiving dinner and having everyone take one of the big maple leaves and writing what they are thankful for right on the tree. Then it goes from a fall decoration to a meaningful THANKFUL TREE.

Ornate Ornament Tutorial

Hey friends!!! Ready for another Monday?!

Today is VERY bittersweet for me!! My little guy started 1st grade today which means he is away from me ALL DAY! I have been very blessed as a workin' mama. I have never had to have my boys in any kind of daycare. When Troy was a baby, he came to the DCWV office with me everyday. When he turned 1, I started working from home. It has worked out really well and it has allowed me to be with my kids all day while I work. So for Troy to head off to school for 7.5 hours of everyday, it hurts my heart! He is so excited and will do great but I am a little selfish wanting to hold him back and keep him little forever :) Good thing I still have one more year with my youngest before he starts Kindergarden! 

Here he is this morning...he was so excited & pumped to wear his first pair of Nike Airs :)

Time just needs to slow down!! Any of you have any tricks?!

I have another Christmas ornament tutorial for you today. This one is super easy, just get out those little scissors!! Here it is...

Try and be as precise as you can when cutting out the pieces so the pattern all matches up. If there is any overlap of paper, just trim it off once the ornament is put together.

Updated Stack List & Paper Dress Video!

Hello my friends! Is everyone having a good week??! I am getting lots done...while still trying to enjoy the last few days of carefree kids & no schedules! School starts on Monday. 

{if this is not a picture of carefree summer, I don't know what is!}

I know then that I will have lots of structure and lots of uninterrupted work time! {yay} So today, I am trying to remember that and let my little ones enjoy a little extra attention from me :)

First off, I have an updated Stack List for you!! This is our pre-Holiday list. Our Holiday stacks will be out at the end of October. So I will give you another list then since we have LOTS coming out for the holidays!! Can I hear you squeal with excitement?! ;)

Ok. This next thing is something you have to see to believe! Serious!!!!

Made with Love is a beyond gorgeous scrapbook store in Indonesia which sells LOTS of our stacks! The video I am sharing today to me, shows the unity of scrappers around the world. I look at these women creating and see in them what I see in my own crafting friends here in this little Utah town that I live in. This video shows the beauty of crafting around the world! 

This video is of their Grand Opening Celebration which is pretty incredible. My favorite part...

the Paper Dress Runway Show! 

The paper dresses were inspired by our dresses from our January CHA show! I know how hard it was to create paper dresses for dress forms...I can't imagine having them on real, walking models! The dresses are incredible!

Monday, Monday!! 

I hope everyone had a great weekend! We had our 5th Annual DCWV Summer Party at Lagoon Amusement Park! Everyone gets to bring their families for a day of roller coasters, entertainment shows, yummy food and lots of fun. Just another reason why I work for the best company in the world who IS a family and who VALUES families. Thank you, DCWV, for a great day! My kids had so much fun....highlight was my 7 year old riding the scariest roller coaster in the park with my boss, Dave! Hilarious :)

First off, I have LOVED reading all of your comments from Friday's video!! I always go back to the designers and tell them generally which stacks are your favorites based on your comments. This release, I swear all 7 stacks got EQUAL LOVE :) I love it when that happens!! One lucky winner...

Every Monday I will share a tutorial on how to make one of the ornaments...and I have enough to probably get us to Christmas, lol!!

All About Me Board Book + Scrapbook USA!

It really is amazing how fast 6 months can go by...because it's that time of year again in Utah...

I love this project that I am going to share with you today!! 

I love this "All About Me" book...made with the new "All About Me Stack" & an old children's book!

You can find these children's books at a thrift store or on eBay. I got a lot of about 10 books on eBay for only a few dollars plus shipping. 

I glued 3 book pages together to give me a good strong base for my scrap page. Then I just created the book by cutting down papers until they were just a little smaller than the book page. 

Once I had the papers in, I gave it to my 10 year old "best babysitter" to make her book :)

We worked together to cut out paper elements that she loved and popped them up with foam adhesive.

A quick photo session in my front yard and her book was complete! We both love how it turned out!! I love this "All About Me Stack" because it really is a great way to get your kids involved with scrapping!
