Scrap Art!

Hey everyone! Happy Friday!!!

Hope everyone has something fun planned for the weekend! I can't believe we have another one here already! I want to again thank all of you for your sweet comments to me after learning about the passing of my best friend, Amberly. You have no idea how much it means to me!

Time is such a crazy thing! I feel like I was just posting about having a new Kindergartener! And now, tomorrow is the last day of school! I have to admit, I have mixed emotions. I hate that my baby is growing up. But I am SO happy to have a break from school and strict routine! I think I have a new appreciate for SUMMER now that I have a child in school :)

Recently we had Art's Night at the Elementary school. Each of the children either make a piece of art or preform a visual art piece. Of course, my little guy wanted to use scrapbook paper and punches, lol. What a kid. He loves his punches!!

This is what he created...

I love it! He drew the picture of the frog and then punched out pieces of scrap paper and filled the image in. When he was finished, I went over his pencil lines with a permanent marker. He added the googly eyes and signed his name! I was so impressed with how it turned out!

This could be done with any kind of image! It is for sure going on his wall in his room. I love finding great ways to use scraps up and this is for sure one of them :)

Thanks for stopping by! And also, THANK YOU for all of your sweet comments from Monday's post. I read each one and was touched that you took the time to write me. Thank you!!!

Back on Monday!

Just doing my little part...

Happy Monday!

It's not too often that I post an entire blog post about my own personal life. But what I was up to this weekend is a huge part of who I am. So I wanted to share and I hope that is ok :) This is what my entire weekend was full of....

My annual all night softball tournament and fundraiser was this weekend. I started it last year because of this girl right best friend, Amberly.

This picture was taken last year, our first year of the tournament. We raised LOTS of money to send her little family to Disneyland and to help with medical bills. This year she choose another family and we did the fundraiser for them.

Here we are this weekend. I tried to tell her she didn't need to come and that she should stay home and rest. But this girl is stubborn and she does what she wants ;) So I was so happy to have her come for a little bit! Sadly, the next day, she was admitted into the hospital. To say my life is a roller coaster right now is an understatement!

This is the Terry Family, the family that Amberly chose for us to sponsor. Their 12 year old, Zachary, (in the yellow) has a rare degenerative disease and he is aging backwards. His nightly seizures erase his memory. His dad is out of work and they have no insurance. The money that we raised will hopefully make a little dent in the stress and hardships that they are facing.

A week of rain stopped for our tournament. Then on Sunday, it was back. Coincidence? I think not.

We had so much support from our little community. And of course DCWV donated an amazing basket for me that we silent auctioned.

Raffle, silent auction, live band, radio station, face painters, dinner and was quite the production. But it was all worth it!!

22 teams played all night long. These were our winners! They were amazing, didn't loose one game :) My hubby's team came in 2nd so I was pretty darn proud of him!

I feel like this tournament has become "my part" of the world, trying to leave it a little better than I found it. It's work. And this year it came at a really difficult time of my life dealing with Amberly's health. But I promised her that I would continue to do this. That was our deal. If I did it for her, then I would have to keep it up every year helping someone else. And she knows that I am always good on my promises :)

Thank you for letting me share. I will be back on Wednesday with a darling project that my 6 year old made for his school Art's Night. He inspires me!!!!

Have a fabulous day :)

3D Wall Art!

Happy Friday!
Another week has come and gone. I hope it's been a good one for you! I can't wait to show you my photos from this coming weekend. If you want a hint, see THIS post from last May ;)

I love it when I get new DCWV Home products to share with you!! We always create the coolest things as wall art. All of the piece in my home that I have always get lots of attention!! I know this one is going to top all of the others in my friends eyes :)

This is a 3D Embellished Wall Vinyl Piece. Basically it's a wall vinyl piece that you apply, and then you add the 3D elements to create a very unique item!! This one is available at Jo-Anns right now and retails for $29.99 at JoAnn’s – other 3D vinyls are also available at Target, Hobby Lobby, ShopKo, JoAnn’s and Meijer stores so check those stores too!

Here is the piece above a doorway in my home. Love the saying and I love the gold vinyl. So unique!

Can you see the flourishes that I added that pop off the wall? I love it!! This piece is for sure not coming off of my wall anytime soon!!!

Well I hope you have a great weekend and get lots of crafting in!

Baby Girl Card

Hey everyone!!

Hope y'all are having a fabulous week so far! I have been BUSY. Work and life has me on my toes this week. And I can't wait to share with you on Monday what I will be up to this weekend. Something VERY important to me :)

It is a very exciting time in our office! One of our long time employees, Danelle, is pregnant with her first little baby. A girl! I have been on cloud 9 since the day she told me her news. She will be the cutest little mama EVER!! We are planning a shower and I was asked to come up with an invite.

Of course I wanted to use the new Baby Girl Stack that is out at Michaels!

And as everyone knows, when you are making invites, you MUST keep them simple!! Mass producing 50ish cards can easily be frustrating. But this one will be so easy to do!

I used scraps to make the banner pieces. Hand cut the little onsie....I see myself cutting lots of onsies while sitting at ball games next week ;)

Love the Bakers Twine for the clothes line...I got mine HERE. The sample pack is so fun!

I am so excited to celebrate Danelle's new baby girl! Gotta get shopping so Auntie Erin can spoil her little girl!!!

Have a great day! Back on Friday!!

What a wonderful thing to do for Mrs.M. My favorite teacher was my 4th grade teacher, Mr. Schoolly(real name) He made me look forward to going to school every day. In the middle of the school year our class got transferred to another school and he went on to another school. I went to say hi to him often, even in my adult life. He has passed on now but will forever have a place in my heart.

Congratulations, ladies!! Email me your address at to claim your prize!

I wanted to show someone {new} that I have done with the paper roses that I showed you months ago....
CLICK HERE for video instructions on how to make them!

Hot glue one to a basic ring base for a fun, unique summer accessory! I used the awesome Mango Frost matstack for mine :) Love the glitter on it!

Or hot glue a magnet to the back of one to give a little spring to your fridge or memo board!

Best Teacher Badge

Hey everyone!
Today I have my last project to share with you for May Arts Week!

School is almost out and I wanted to make something special for my Kindergartener's teacher to wear on the last week of school! It thought that the Lemon Flower Stack would be the perfect "happy, spring" stack for this project :) It's available right now at Jo--Ann's Stores and online!

I created a special badge that says "Best Teacher Ever" for Mrs. M to wear. It shows just how we feel about her!! The top was cut out with a Tim Holtz Sizzix Die....layered patterned paper and chipboard to make it a little sturdy.

Then I layered May Arts ribbon that matched the stack to jazz it up a little bit. This ribbon is sooo pretty!!

I hope she likes it! Troy is so excited to give it to her :)

Do you want to win a Lemon Flower Stack??! Leave me a comment telling me about your favorite teacher and I will enter you into a drawing!!

THANK YOU May Arts for being so great to work with! We love your company!!

Adhesive Cardstock + Ribbon = Fun!

Hey everyone!!

Are you back for more paper and ribbon fun!! It is so much fun working with May Arts this week!

I think I discovered this ribbon about 2 years ago....and since then I have collected quite the stash :)

One of my ribbon order to the chaos....I love looking at all the textures and colors. There is always a ribbon to match my DCWV paper that I am working with :)

Today's project uses this baby....

Adhesive Backed Cardstock...LOVE! This stuff is awesome for so many projects!! This particular stack is at Michael's stores right now.

To make my ribbon covered card, I cut down a piece of adhesive backed cardstock to 5.5x8.5 and scored it in half at the 4.25 mark. The inside of the card will be the color of your cardstock. The outside will be covered with ribbon where the white, sticky side is!

Working with the sticky side, just layer whatever ribbons you want to create whatever pattern you want. This is a great way to use those ribbon scraps!

Trim the sides down.

Added a few alphabet stickers and that's it! Love the textures of all of these ribbons! And the adhesvie cardstock keeps the ribbon down and NO BUBBLES! Ribbon can often be tricky to stick down :)

Well I hope you all have a fabulous day!! See you back here tomorrow ;) And I think we will do a giveaway on Friday!!

Fun, fun :)
