Hello friends!

The days just seem to move faster and faster! It's our Spring Break this week so we've had a lot of fun sleeping in, having leisure breakfasts, staying up late watching movies....my first Spring Break with a Kindergartener so I have a new appreciate for it!

Just a heads up....if you want to see BRAND NEW stacks that will be in Jo-Anns stores in the next couple weeks, be sure to come back to the blog on Friday for a {video} and a {giveaway}! There are 5 new stacks and they are all so unique...I promise there will be something for everyone. I am particularly excited for a very "springy" stack that will be perfect for my Easter projects this year!!
2 days....get ready!

My little guy was SO excited when I broke out this Wall Art from the box....

Freestyle Skateboards Wall Accents

My 6 year old, Troy, LOVES Tony Hawk and anything skateboarding! He loves to watch the extreme sport shows on ESPN with his Daddy. He doesn't have his own skateboard yet....not sure how long I can put this off for!

I love how these skateboards look SO REAL and they look like they are hanging right there on the wall. So much fun! Now my little man wants to redo his room in a skateboarding theme.....may have to get a few more of these babies!!

Tutorial: Folded Circle Flowers

Wow! What a weekend!! I loved seeing all of our blog fans that came to talk to me at our booth at the Expo!! We had a SUPER busy booth and sold tons and tons of excess inventory and ridiculously low prices!

There will be another Expo in September so if you have a trip planned to Utah in the fall, try to make it the weekend of the 9th & 10th!

And we had an awesome response to our giveaway that was announced on Thursday! I have a big box of goodies just looking at me and it is going in the mail to:

Deanne Washer

Congratulations! Email me at erinmadsen@diecutsinc.com with your address and
I will get it right out to you!!

Today I have another awesome tutorial for you for a project from our CHA booth!

These paper flowers are so unique, I've never seen them done before!! They look kinda tricky but trust me, they are easy, easy!

SUPPLY LIST:

The Cotton Bloom Stack
Circle stencil tool (or assorted cans or jars you can trace around the bottoms for a circle)
Paintbrush and water or water spray bottle
Assorted silk flowers
5) Wooden dowels
Floral wire
Floral tape
Yellow grosgrain ribbon
Orange grosgrain ribbon
Assorted white buttons
Assorted orange buttons
Mason jar
Pencil
Die cut butterfly shape
Die cut machine
Hot glue gun
Scissors

1.     To create folded circle shape, cut a 1” circle from a piece of paper.
2.     Using the same patterned paper, cut another circle twice the size (2”) as the first circle.
3.     Using a paintbrush and water or spray bottle, wet the larger circle.
4.     Lay the smaller circle inside larger one.

6.     Repeat process using different sized circles from varying papers.
7.     Cut out additional circles from varying papers (do not fold these papers, keep flat).
8.     To create a flower, layer and adhere the different sized folded and flat circles together.
9.     Adhere silk flowers, ribbons and buttons to the centers of circles.
10.  Wrap each wooden dowel with floral tape and adhere to the backs of each flower.
11.  Trace and cut out leaf shapes from green printed papers.
12.  Glue leaves to the stems of flowers.
13.  Fill a mason jar with assorted orange buttons and insert flowers into mason jar.
14.  Curl floral wire around a pencil to create a spring shape. Insert into jar.

Playtime with Playtime

Hello my blogging friends!!!

Do you ever leave paper or pictures on your scrap desk or in your bag just waiting for the time to play with it!! That's what I have been doing with the new Playtime Stack! It's been sitting there...for a while....waiting for the emails and "business" to be done so I could play. This morning was my time to put everything else aside to get my hands dirty...or sticky with glue ;)

Love how these prints are printed on KRAFT paper!!! Genius! Why didn't I think of this, geez!! ;) It is so fun and different!! The prints worked perfectly with some pictures from last weekend that I took of my boys at an indoor swimming pool...

{click photo to enlarge}

Love the journaling on the kraft paper....so fun! I have a feeling I will be needing some back up stacks of this one!! I LOVE IT!!! I would love to see a sophisticated stack printed on Kraft...better let my designer friends know ;)

And we have a winner from Monday's giveaway!!

Birthday Hats & a GIVEAWAY!

Monday...again?! What happened to this weekend?! Way too fast at my house :) Did ya'll do anything exciting?? We watched a lot of basketball, spent time with friends and tried to get some stuff done around the house. So no, not too exciting ;)

Several people emailed me to ask how we made our party hats and cone chair hangers from our Dots, Stripes & Plaids Party in our CHA booth. So I have step by step instructions!

And to make it better, I am going to give away some goodies to a lucky blog reader! I will be giving away a 12x12 printed, a 12x12 cardstock and a box of chipboard from this line! All you have to do is leave me a comment and tell me about one of your favorite birthday's from the past. Mine would have to be my 6th birthday where my mom rented a chimpanzee named Bubba and his trainer to come entertain me and my friends. And Bubba ended up pulling up my dress and I was soooo embarrassed that my little crush, Daniel, saw my undies! lol. My boys love hearing that story!!

Wall Art Wednesday!

It's Wednesday...and officially it's "Wall Art Wednesday"! DCWV Home has so much to offer, I want to focus on some of their products every other Wednesday! Today, I am sending my love to all of the DCWV fans in the Midwest!

The product that I want to show you today is available at Meijer's Stores! Meiijer's has 194 stores in Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio & Kentucky.

I LOVE these darling Memo Boards!! So dang cute! These are $19.99 and in Meijer Stores right now :)

I love how the scroll one has pearls in the centers of the ribbon and the youthful bright, bird board has cute rhinestones! I wanted to show you how I used mine....

So you know all of your clothing receipts you want to save, the little baggies of extra buttons from a new sweater or a tag you want to hang on to? Where do you put those? I didn't have anywhere for those so....

I hung this scroll memo board in my closet so that I could keep track of all of these things! I love it! You could also hang it in your bedroom or bathroom to fulfill the same purpose.

And how cute is my little babysitter? She just repainted her bedroom and the bird memo board was the exact colors of her new room! She was so excited to put pictures up and notes from friends. So fun!

See you tomorrow! Have a fabulous day!!
