Monday...again?! What happened to this weekend?! Way too fast at my house :) Did ya'll do anything exciting?? We watched a lot of basketball, spent time with friends and tried to get some stuff done around the house. So no, not too exciting ;)
Several people emailed me to ask how we made our party hats and cone chair hangers from our Dots, Stripes & Plaids Party in our CHA booth. So I have step by step instructions!
And to make it better, I am going to give away some goodies to a lucky blog reader! I will be giving away a 12x12 printed, a 12x12 cardstock and a box of chipboard from this line! All you have to do is leave me a comment and tell me about one of your favorite birthday's from the past. Mine would have to be my 6th birthday where my mom rented a chimpanzee named Bubba and his trainer to come entertain me and my friends. And Bubba ended up pulling up my dress and I was soooo embarrassed that my little crush, Daniel, saw my undies! lol. My boys love hearing that story!!
So check out these instructions and enter in the giveaway!! It's been a little while since we've done one so I wanted you to feel the DCWV love ;)
Winner will be posted on Wednesday!

ReplyDeleteFantastic. Would be wonderful for a little one's party. Thanks for the instructions. My fave birthday was in 2010 when my grandsons took me to Chuck E Cheese for pizza and games. We had a blast.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for sharing..My favorite birthday was probably when I was 6 my Mom had bought me some ducks you know the colored ones that people buy at Easter because they dye them all kinds of colors..anyway, I overheard my Mom and Dad talking about getting rid of my two ducks because they stank..so I went into the bathroom and squirted (baby magic lotion) all over them so that they would smell better...You ought to have seen my Moms face when they came quacking out of the bathroom with lotion running off their beaks..sad to say they still had to go...but that moment was priceless.

So cute! I made a party hat for my daughter's last birthday and she loved it and I loved making it for her. My favorite birthday was my 30th birthday, my hubby and sister in law threw me a wonderful party and I was pregnant with my 3rd child (my first girl) and my grandfather was there. It was the last time I remember him being in town and visiting and he came even though he was very sick and it was super hot (July) outside. I cherish the pictures from that party that he is in.
ReplyDeleteSo cute. My favorite birthday was my 30th and having my two little one year olds so excited to celebrate!
ReplyDeleteSo cute! Your birthday story is halarious as well! My favorite was probably last year when my best friend took my to a place where I could hold a chimp :) It was soooo cute!
ReplyDeleteEmily (coolcricutcreations at yahoo dot com)
Very cute-thanks for sharing! My favorite birthday was the one I just had-my husband took our 3 year old son to the jewerly store and let him pick my gift. He chose a beautiful diamond necklace-good job son!
ReplyDeleteAdorable! Thanks for sharing!!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for the instructions. I don't really remember any of my birthdays growing up. We usually only did just the family because we didn't have money to do big parties. So my favorite birthdays are my kids' birthdays. We try to make them very memorable. I let them pick whatever they want for dinner that night and they always have a big party with all of their classmates and sleepovers.

Thanks for the instructions. I don't really remember my birthday parties. I think my favorite that we had for my kids was when we had Loonette the clown for my daughters 3rd birthday in 2009. Loads of kids didn't show but I loved her face.
ReplyDeletei think that my most favorite birthday part is the one where my mom made a train cake for me and my older brother cause our birthdays fall in the same week.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite birthday was when I turned 8. We had just moved to our house, and my mom wanted me to be able to get to know the other neighborhood kids. Her and my brothers put together a little at home party...including relay races, and a cake.
ReplyDeleteWhen you get to my age all of your birthdays just become a blur. I grew up on the Florida Gulf Coast & my birthday is in Sept. so many, many years there were hurricanes either just blowing in or just going out on my birthday.
ReplyDeleteMy favourite birthday was my 21st. It was the first birthday where I had a party. Our little flat was packed with friends and it was wonderful!!!
ReplyDeleteLove this line and the BD items you created. My favorite BD's have to be the ones I have had since I have been married to my husband. He always spoils me and makes a big deal. LOVE IT!!
ReplyDeleteI am so glad you posted the instructions for these! Thank you. My favorite birthday was year before last. My husband and I got married about a week before my birthday and we were still on our honeymoon in the Bahamas. Honeymoon + Birthday + Bahamas = one very memorable birthday! =-)
ReplyDeleteOlivia
Thanks for the directions! What a perfectly embarrasing story though! At least you were 6 years old - and not 16!!! I think my favorite birthday was in 2003 - my first daughter was born two weeks later, so she was my slightly belated birthday present!

Super fun collection! Erin, what an amazing birthday recollection - I'm sure I don't have anything quite so colourful. What I do remember is that my birthday is in the summer and so parties when I was growing up were difficult to plan, with school out and vacations etc. We often were away camping. But my mom always tried to make it special by baking and bringing the most creative cakes. I remember a cake lined with animal crackers when I was young...
ReplyDeleteMy favorite birthday was my 10th. My parents let me have my first slumber party.
ReplyDeleteSo cute! My favorite birthday would have to be my 16th:) My best friends came early in the morning and woke me up and took me to breakfast in my PJs no makeup or hair done.... Then they planned an entire day doing things we love to do:) I love my BFF'S! Thanks for the great giveaway:)
ReplyDeleteThanks for posting the instructions, so cute!! My favorite birthday was when I turned 8 and got my first brand new bike. Before that, I always got the hand me down bike from my older siblings so I was so excited to have one just for me!
ReplyDeletecascrapper at gmail dot com
My favorite birthdays growing up were when my birthday fell on or close to Easter and we visited my grandparents at Lake Mead and had great Easter Egg hunts.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite birthday was in 1979, 14 days before my birthday I gave birth to identical twin boys and I was so happy it was over with before my birthday, plus I had these two cute lil guys to spoil :)
ReplyDeleteBubba!! Ha ha!!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite birthday was actually a lot more recently. Six years ago, I had my first ever birthday party to coincide with my stepdaughter's graduation from high school It was so nice to have so many friends over and such a wonderful day!!
I'm a "Christmas Baby" so don't have any really special birthday memories except that when I was growing up my mom did make it a point to make a cake for me each year. Well, I'm an adult now and have 3 kids of my own. My birthday gets kinda forgotten and I make my own cake. This year we went to my mom's to celebrate Christmas late (mid January). She had 34 mini cupcakes with a candle in each one just for me. That really touched my heart!
ReplyDeletehmmm, not to be creepy, but something always crappy happens within a few days of my BDay, aunt had a heart attack, grandpa died, brother broke his leg, husband forgot! hahhaha, ummm so I look forward to my sons birthdays and making them as special as i can. My youngest turns 1 next month, so I'm excited
ReplyDeleteVery cute! Thanks for posting. I don't remember any of my parties. My favorite party would have to be any of my son's parties. I love having parties!
ReplyDeletestephanniemarshall@hotmail.com
my favorite birthday, believe it or not, was my 16th birthday when I fell down the stairs in high school in front of the whole cafeteria! I stood up and took a bow. I ended up on crutches for a month. However, it was one that I could remember and retell over and over. I couldn't do anything but laugh about it. Plus everyone carried my books in school and I met a lot of new people because of it! Although the fact they wheeled me on a stretcher to the nurse's office and my friend Liz gave me a chain letter on the way would be the best part of the story. Chain letters...remember them? LOL!
ReplyDeleteLove the blog! marybethp@yahoo.com
ooh what a great idea to make your own party hats! I always forget to pick some up, so this would be so fast and easy. My favorite birthday was my 10th--I was soooo excited to be 1 decade old, and I got to paint pottery with all my friends. LOVED IT! Aparna
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for sharing these instructions! My favorite birthday party memory is roller skating with my friends when I turned 10. It was the last party with my friends before my family moved 500 miles across the country. It is a fantastic memory to have left with! I already get your e-mail subscriptions but I am a follower now too. TFS

LOVE the story Erin! Funny!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite birthday memory is my 13th birthday. We have a slumber party in our camper in the backyard and one of my girlfriends secretly invited my "boyfriend" and his friends over, all while my parents were chaperoning my sister's 6th grade dance! LOL! Oh the memories!

Favorite birthday was my recent birthday where a bunch of my friends and I went late night roller skating! We had the best time ever and every time I think of that night, I just laugh and laugh. :)
ReplyDeleteMy party when I turned 6, I don't remember what the theme was but my then crush made me a pillow out of red gingham and sewed a pocket on the front and made scrabble letters so I had a homemade version of scrabble. Of course I would of loved a rat from him!!! However my favorite part was that his Mom was really late picking him up so we got to go in my room and play scrabble on my pillow, hmm...the memory!

None of my birthdays have been memorable, but I do love each gathering we've had for my kids!
ReplyDeleteI'd LOVE to have some of that paper for my son's upcoming 5th birthday!

When I was a kid we didn't have parties the way my kids have had parties, so I'd have to say one of my favorite birthday memories would have to be from one of their birthdays. They are 17 and 19 now, so perhaps their sweet 16s.
ReplyDeleteAll of my elementary school birthday parties growing up! Since my birthday is on Halloween I always had dress up parties with tons of friends! Complete with apple bobbing, donuts on a string and pin the wart on the witch- EVERY YEAR!
ReplyDeleteI remember lots of birthday parties but I remember when I turned 15 very clearly. My party was at an ice-skating rink and we had a blast, of course, everyone was falling down a lot including me. I had worn my new cord outfit that my grandma has sent me and when it came time to do the birthday spankings I bent over and my pants split!! Everyone saw my underpants!! I was soo embarrassed but I've never forgotten that party!!
ReplyDeleteAll of my birthdays were great...I dont remember how old I turned but one year my mom had a clown come and do magic tricks it was pretty awesome :)
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Bday would have to be last year when my son turned one. Getting to see him open all his presents and eat cake. I get more excited about his bday's which is in less than two weeks, than I do my own. this year it's all about Matter (from the movie Cars)
ReplyDeleteLove the party hats...so cute! My fav bday was when I turned 6 we were living in Germany and my Grandparents came over to visit and a whole bunch of my friends came to the house for a big party.
ReplyDeleteMy Favorite birthday was when I was 13 and had a sleepover with 5 or 6 girls. Someone started sliding down our carpeted stairs in their sleeping bag. I was convinced that my parents would run and and shut down the fun. That was the first time I was shocked by my parents reaction. They came in but did not stop the fun but encouraged all of us to join in. To this day, I still wonder "who were those parents!" Such a great memory on so many levels!
ReplyDeleteAmy
Thanks for the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite birthday was when I was 6 and it was my first birthday that I invited school friends to. We played lots of games but the best was sitting on the balloons to make them pop. I was terrified!
Oh let's see, I'd have to say my 15th birthday bash. It was so much fun, music, food, and an almond cake that was unforgettable!
ReplyDeleteI don´t think that any collection would fit that perfect for this birthday project than DCWV....loved! Tkx for sharing and for the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteI think my fav bday was my 30th, just because we were able to get so many people to come and hang out!! ~Jen
ReplyDeleteProbably my 5th birthday where I received my bike before I went to school. I didn't have to wait all day for my presents.
ReplyDeleteYou are so creative! I love your projects. My memorable birthday was my 21st my now husband took me on a surprise trip to Catalina.
ReplyDeleteHe's not good at keeping things a surprise and that time was no different I over heard him telling someone but it was great non the less!

Love it! My favorite Bday was my 20th! ALL of my friends and family forgot it was my birthday so I was super bummed! I called a new friend of mine I just met and he decided to cheer me up by taking me to the beach... the same beach he would propose to me at 2 years later!! He made my birthday (and our now married life) super special.
ReplyDeletemy favorite birthday was age 13. my mom paid the Mary Kay rep to give me and 4 of my friends make overs. it was really cool.

Thanks for the instructions, I've been wondering how to make party hats!! My favorite birthday is this one coming up in 2 weeks! :-) My oldest is 3 yrs old and is so excited about birthdays this year because he finally understands, so its going to be fun celebrating my birthday through his eyes!!
ReplyDeleteWhen my boyfriend (husband now) surprised me with a promise ring AND a surprise party with my friends!
ReplyDeleteAwesome party decos! I already have the printed stack of this line, and it's wonderful. Slowly and happily crafting my way through it!
ReplyDeleteWe didn't really do birthday parties when I was young. But my hubby threw me a great little party for my 40th. Had my parents, sisters and their families there...it was laid-back, and then he surprised me with a romantic trip for two. We hadn't taken a trip alone together for a decade (before our kids were Norns). Best. Birthday. Ever.
My best birthday was this past February, I turned 41. My mom and I scrapbook and she made plans for us to attend a crop at Archivers Friday night. We had dinner in the mall beforehand. As we walked to Archivers to scrap, I mentioned that I would have loved to have my friends with me that night. When we almost get to our table, I notice 2 of my girlfriends are there too and they were there to scrap with me! Then my bestest friend popped up from behind one of the center racks. I let out a scream, started hugging her, started crying, and couldn't let go. I haven't seen her in quite a while and she drove all the way from WI to NC just to be with me for my birthday!! Needless to say, I didn't get anything done that night! And my mom got balloons, cake and ice cream to share with all the scrappers that night. Even my hubby was in on the surprise!! It was a wonderful birthday~!~!
ReplyDeleteThis is so stinkin' adorable! Thanks for sharing! My favorite bday was my 29th. My husband threw me a surprise party and all of my closest friends/family were there to celebrate. It was wonderful!
ReplyDeleteCute party hats and candy cone!
ReplyDeleteMy best birthday was a few years ago, my hubby surprised me with tickets to Vegas! And my parents agreed to watch the 2 little ones while we were away. =) thanks for the chance to win!

My favorite birthday was my 9th birthday. I was over at my Dad's house and it snowed (we lived in southern Virginia and it doesn't snow a lot there) and he said that God made it snow just for me on my birthday. To me that was so awesome and made me feel so special :).
ReplyDeleteNow how cute are those>>>> I adore these hats they are to sweet.Hmm I would have to say my favourite birthday was my 14 th because my best friend Joey came over and gave me a puppy from the litter his dog had...

I really don't remember mine...but I miss when my kids were little and I would throw fun parties for them. We've had princesses and knights and Disney characters come. We have had a magician and a pirate with a parrot. We had the bubble lady and reptiles in my house! And the most fun for me was putting together the goody bags :)
ReplyDeleteSuper cute!! My fav bday would be the one i had just few weeks ago,my 30th..We quite regularly have tea with a cousin of my moms. Not thinking she invited us over for tea on my bday, when i walked in i noticed her dinning room table was set for a bunch.long story short she had planned a suprise brunch with my fav meal (she didn't know)Her daughter in law made the cake (again my fav and she had no clue!!!)I was suprised and really happy.
ReplyDeleteBubba the chimpanzee, how cool is that? Thanks for the instructions and sharing your memories with us. One of my most memorable birthdays was when I was 9. I'd fractured my elbow and was moping about not being able to go swimming in our pool for the ENTIRE summer. My great aunt and uncle came over for cake and ice cream, bringing me the coolest presents (no kids of their own) a beautiful Sunday dress, a portable radio, and the best gift of all, a Ken doll. I was so excited that Barbie could have a husband LOL
ReplyDeleteThanks also for the heads up about Nancy Hill being on Good Things Utah tomorrow! Enjoy the warmer weather - isn't it grand?
I'm born in the beginning of November, so my best childhood BD memories are the one or two times when I woke up in the morning, ran to the window and there was first snow on the ground! But my best BD ever was my 25th, me and my fiancé (now husband) flew to London to see my favourite band's concert. A night I'll never forget!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the instructions - just in time for my youngest's b'day! Every year my birthdays get better so I'd have to say the last one was the best. My kids are really young so they were so excited, trying not to tell me what they got me, and asking all day whether or not it was time for cake, yet!
ReplyDeleteLove the party decor!
ReplyDeleteMy best birthday was when I turned 11. My dad was a truck driver and would be gone for long periods of time. Since he wasn't going to be home, my mom took my little brother and I to my favorite restaurant, Francesco's for my birthday dinner. There was a long wait and we were standing by the door, waiting to be seated. After standing there for a few minutes, I felt the breeze from the door opening and I turned around and it was MY DAD walking in! I was so excited. That in itself was the best birthday present ever!
These are so flippin' cute! Thanks for sharing! My favorite birthday was the year my friends took me to a medieval themed theater restaurant! There's nothing like jesters and serving wenches to make a celebration memorable! Lol :)
ReplyDeleteLOVE this collection!! I really cant think of birthdays past when this birthday is on my mind!! TOMORROW I leave for NEW YORK with the girls!! My mother in law is taking me and my sis in laws there for our birthdays this year. My sis in laws are turning 40 and Ill be 29 again ;) (okay maybe its 30 I dont remember). But Im sure to remember this birthday celebration in NYC baby!!! Thanks for the chance to win.
ReplyDeleteI guess my best birthday as a kid was when I turned 9 years old and got to have the party at Chuck E Cheese's. As an adult with kids now, I can see why I was told by my parents we wouldn't have parties there anymore...
ReplyDeleteThat would be the easiest question I have ever answered. My favorite birthday was my 50th birthday!! Why? Because my granddaughter was born on that day! We continue to celebrate our bdays together every year. She is 15 now.
ReplyDeleteThanks for another chance to win some goodies.
duchessdee@msn.com
i have 2 favorite Birthdays from the past!! when I turned 16 my parents surprised me with a Limo!! I kind of had a feeling though because my Mom said the Limo is big enough in her sleep!! LOL The Limo took us to Dave and Busters where we played lots of video games!!
ReplyDeleteMy 2nd Bday memory is when I turned 23 last year because I received a record player!!
Thanks for giving us the opportunity tow in!
ReplyDeleteOne of my best brithday memories comes from my Grandfather. Having been born on July 2nd, I was always curious on the fireworks for 4th of July. My grandfather use to tell me the fireworks were really to celebrate my birthday and that it took 2 extra days to set them up. to this day, i always smile at 4th of July fireworks!
My favorite birthday was at the roller skating rink. My grandpa wanted to try to skate and he did. But he fell and it scared me to death. He was okay, just a bruised ego, but I was happy for him to just watch from the sidelines. I still love to roller skate :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the chance to win!!!
My favorite birthday party was when I turned 39 years old. I had an awesome pool party with family and friends.
ReplyDeletemnfoxx1110@yahoo.com
It's not one specific bday but mom used to make me the most amazing cakes- a rainbow that actually arched over the cake and had a ceramic unicorn under it, a Hansel and Gretel style house made of cake and covered with candy, a Star Wars cake that had quite a few SW figures and die cast vehicles on it...
ReplyDeleteMy favorite birthday was my last one, I turned 32 and my husband planned a romantic night at home it was great

ReplyDeleteThanks for the chance to win!
Thanks for sharing the instructions! My favorite birthday was the year my husband surprised me with a weekend away (our sons were teenagers and we hadn't been away since their births). He arranged everything without my knowledge --including care for the boys, having the company I work for let me walk out the door halfway through the day when he came to get me, etc. -- it was amazing, heavenly, and a time I shall never forget. Thanks for the opportunity to relive that great memory!
ReplyDeleteA chimpanzee? Seriously? LOL! My favorite birthday memory is when my husband proposed to me - we have been happily married now for sixteen years! Love the party hats - too cute!
ReplyDeleteWell i just love the cone candy holders on the chairs....just awesome. Ok best memory would be eating the money cake, my mom would wrap coin and cook it into the cake...of course the birthday child would always get the loonie or twoonie....(how did that happen?) TFS!

ReplyDeleteOk i don't have a favorite BD party because i have never had one.
Your story was HILARIOUS.. thanks for sharing!! My most memorable birthday would have to be my 30th. My husband (then fiance) planned a SURPRISE party for me, but I kind of ruined it because I was so insistant that I do something SPECIAL for my big 3-0. I kept trying to get him to go to Tahoe for the weekend and he kept telling me "no" we should just hang out at home and do a quiet dinner. Well... I just wasn't having that, so I said I would just go myself if I had to! In the end, he HAD to tell me about the party to shut me up.... boy did I feel foolish!! :( It's all good now tho.. he loves to tell people that story!

My favorite birthday party was my 16th! My parents threw me a surprise birthday party!
ReplyDeleteI would say my favorite birthday was my 10th. Probably because I remember it the most. We went to Knott's Berry Farm for the day and had a great time. The park was pretty empty so the ride operators let us go extra times. It was during the riots in LA in 1992, so it was a rough time for the area, but I was 10 and didn't really get what was going on and we had a great time!
ReplyDeleteLOVE it! My favorite birthday memory is from my 25th when my BFF threw me a surprise party!!

Five minutes after getting the ring, my husband called. The tears started flowing. Love that guy so much!

ReplyDeleteMcDonald's. He took me to a Chinese restaurant for dinner. We were the only ones there. When they found out it was my birthday. They put a candle in a pot sicker. It was really fun.

When I turn 20 my mom hired an Elvis Impersonator and sent him to my work.
ReplyDeleteI would have to say the birthday that landed on Mother's Day. I felt so blessed to be a mother and celebrate me.
ReplyDeleteMichele
What a funny story!! Silly Chimp!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite birthday was probably my 9th, it landed on a weekday and my mom had to work so since we couldn't do anything on the day, she sent me the biggest bouquet of balloons ever! I was so thrilled both to have the balloons and that I got something delivered to me haha
I think it was my 8th? My friends all brought dolls, and we had a dress-up tea party. My mother made my cake (something I hated as a child... but am SO thankful now!) and we all drank "tea" with cream and sugar.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the party instructions! Love the look of it all. One of my favorite bday memories was birthday # 35 - a camping birthday near Grand Teton National Park complete with a candle in a s'more! :)
ReplyDeleteMy favorite birthday party was actually one of my friends not mine. Her mom took paper doll books and tied them to long pieces of ribbon. We got to choose a ribbon and pull them out to see which one we got. Avoids anyone fighting over who gets what.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite birthday party was when I had a Hawaiian luau. My dad manned the grill and the smells coming out of it were wonderful. The kabobs were yummy. We all got really silly by trying out different dance moves. It was one of the last birthdays that my grandma was able to attend.
ReplyDeletemy favorite birthday would probably have to be 6th grade. Everyone was young enough that there was nothing else for them to do on a weekend so all my friends came and I had this huge party in my parents basement. The girls and guys were old enough to have crushes on each other and we had our little slow dances and felt really cool that my parents left us alone in the basement with really loud music to hang out. There was all the pizza and pop a middle schooler could want and of course we were young enough that everyone brought presents for me! Oh, those were the days lol
ReplyDeleteThanks for the chance to win!

My best birthday was my 25th. It was the night I met my fiance!
ReplyDeleteWhat a GREAT line!! I LOVE the party hats!
ReplyDeleteI shared your story with my boys who also found it pretty amusing! LOL
My best birthday was when i turned 40! My mom & Dh threw me a surprise party, and ALL 4 of my Very best Friends were there!! It was small but amazing!
My best birthday was either my 27th or 28th. I honestly don't remember which it was. My husband booked a cruise for us and we had a great time.
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute party! My birthday is in the summer so I was either at camp, or we celebrated with a pool party. My favorite (and recent) party was my youngest's 4th this past year. We had a Princess theme and I made all the invitations, decorations, cake, cupcakes, and treats.
ReplyDeleteThanks for another fabulous give away!
I LOVE THIS COLLECTION!!! Seriously! it's so fun and vibrant! I'd have to say one of my favorite birthdays was my 16th birthday. I thought my parents had forgotten about it and my mom came home so late from work (she worked so hard so that we wouldn't be without anything)and she called me into the living room and with tears in her eyes she said "I wish I could give you more but I want to give you this..." and it was a ring from her mother that she had given her on her 16th birthday...It is still my favorite ring other than my wedding set. Thanks for the chance to win!!
ReplyDeleteYours TruLee

Love this collection! I loved all my birthdays
ReplyDeletecute party stuff...too cool, I would have to say my favorite birthday was probably my sixteenth, when I got a car...keep in mind it was an old car but it was mine!!!and I was proud!!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Birthday party would have to be my 35th Birthday, when I got to celebrate my day along with my dad it was his 60th!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the chance to win.
My favorite birthday would have to be my 30th when we had a big Halloween party and everyone came out in outrageous and fantastic costumes. We all had a great time and acted like kids for the night :-)
ReplyDeleteThank you for the chance to win!
I don't think I remember a special birthday and I'm 60 years old. lol It always seemed like my birthday was too close to Christmas for it to be a big deal to anyone else, so it's just a birthday.
ReplyDeleteI love your little party table and hats, they are really great. My favorite birthday was my 40th surprise birthday party. We were meeting up with some of our cousins that we hadnt seen in years (or so I thought) and when we arrived at the local park, not only were our cousins there, but so was my 40th birthday party. What a great surprise. The best part was the cake that my sister made. She baked the cake in a bowl, then turned it over and iced it green and put a little polly pocket figure on it along with OVER the Hill and decorated it like a hill with little flowers and such. It was adorable and it made being 40 that much easier!!
ReplyDeleteOne of my favorites birthdays was my 8th. I had a sleepover, we watched scary movies and my parents were great! I remember my mom making a 'boat' out of a watermelon and had different kinds of fruit in it. This was also the year that I received one of my most treasured gifts. Being a daddy's girl it's no wonder I remember. He bought me a music box with 3 silk roses enclosed in a glass case and it played 'You Light Up My Life.'
ReplyDeleteWOW! What an awesome birthday with a chimp! My favorite was actually for my son where we rented "The Ball Bus" and our yard was filled with all kinds of carnival games including a couple of blow up enclosures filled with balls for the kids to jump in and a slide that they slid out the side of the bus. They had a blast! What a fun giveaway,
ReplyDeleteTFS! pdela-torre@wavecable.com
loving those party hats. My fav birthday was when I was 4. It was the last time I saw my father and my grandmother. I remember lots of hugs and lots of cuddles and lots of dolls with heaps of doll clothes. It makes me sad but I'll cherish it forever. thanks for the chance to win some goodness

Too cute! I would love to win! My favorite birthdays were when I was a kid too.... so exciting to open presents! I wish birthdays when you were in your 30s were half as fun. Thanks for the chance to win!
ReplyDeletekarenskapin at yahoo dot com
Your story was so cute. I would probably laugh everytime you told me also. My favorite cirthday was my 31st. My husband and friends took me out to a bar, mind you I am not a drinker at all, (no wine, beer liquor, nothing). I kept orering pina coladas (must have been 4) and thought man I could really drink, while all along my husband was throwing out the liquor. The next morning talking about it he told me what he had done. That was so nice of him not to let me get drunk. LOL.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing you story with all of us bloggers and for a chance to win.
My favorite b-day was right after I got married. My husband cooked my fav meal--twice baked potatoes and we relaxed at home watching movies! Awesome.
ReplyDeleteOne of my favorite birthday memories when I was a kid was my fifth. I was staying at my grandparents' because my mother had just given birth to my brother. My grandmother threw a party for me and I got a stuffed dog. I hugged him so hard all day, his face was permanently smashed in.
ReplyDeleteI can't remember how old I was, but my parents had a surprise party for my twin sister and I. When I entered the room and they yelled Surprise, I yelled Shut Up. Great way to start a party:)
ReplyDeleteLove these hats!
My favorite birthday was when I was 40 and pregnant with my son. It was such a magical time getting ready for his arrival. I think everyone else forgot it was my birthday and friends now ask when we'll be celebrating my 40th. It was really "my day".
ReplyDeleteMy favorite birthday was my 18th, my husband and I were still "just friends" but he came to take me to the movies because there was a big snow storm and I didn't get to have my big party. I nearly fell on some ice walking into the theater and he caught me....= first butterflys!! :) I couldn't concentrate on the movie at all, I think that was the day I realized I was falling in love with my friend. BEST BIRTHDAY EVER ;)
ReplyDeleteI have (2) favorite birthdays! On my 19th my daughter was born 3 weeks early and came on my birthday! On my 40th birthday I had an adorable 9 week old little boy!!!!
ReplyDeleteOne of my best birthdays was a surprise party that my father organized with lots of family and friends! I still don't know how he pulled it off because he really has a hard time keeping secrets!!
ReplyDeleteThese paper hats are adorable! I've never had a birthday party so my birthdays weren't very memorable, but I go all out for my kids' birthdays and those are very memorable. I try to make every birthday fun and enjoyable for them.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing. My favourite birthday is my 13th. I spent the actual day of my birthday at camp buidling a wigwam. And my Mum and Grandparents were waiting at my house for me when I got back from camp a few days later with a cake and birthday presents. It was also special because I was finally a teenager!! :p
ReplyDeleteHands down my 40th Birthday. My Brother threw me a complete surprise party with everyone I knew or even met. Complete with a Band. It was awesome. I never felt so loved.
ReplyDeleteI think my favorite birthday would have to be my 6th...Mom and dad made hamburgers and hotdogs and we had a huge backyard where we played all kinds of outdoor games and swung on my swingset. Those were the days!!!
ReplyDeleteMy Favorite was when my kids were young seeing how excited they were to make me a cake and decorate it themselves.
ReplyDeleteI honestly dont have a great birthday to share, but I have alot of my kids birthdays that were pretty awesome!!!! TFS this awesome idea :))
ReplyDeleteMY favorite was my surprise 40th birthday, when my husband had told me that we were going on a double date with an old friend I had. She was there and so were my other friends to surprise me! They had decorated posters with my childhood photos and showed past loved ones, as well. What a great time of fellowship.
ReplyDeleteThe party set up is adorable! One of my favorite birthdays was my 10th. My sister bought my a bouquet of flowers, then she took me out to a movie. I felt so grown up.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the instructions! I would have to say my "40th" Birthday was one of my favorites! I had a huge party including a live band! Lots of good food/drink and GREAT friends! Not to mention all the flowers I received that year at work from various people!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite birthday was when I was in the fifth grade. I was a pacman crazed kid. My cake was pacman shaped. I can still remember the bright yellow icing. I got my hand held pacman game that year. I still have it and it still works.
ReplyDeleteProbably my 30th birthday. We were stationed on a tiny island out in the Aleutian Islands in Alaska and my husband had to go somewhere for the Navy. He had this very nice lady make me a cake and deliver it on my birthday. It was very yummy. It meant a lot to me that he planned it ahead of time.
ReplyDeleteA past birthday...I would have to say when I was 15. Had my family, friends and the Missionaries over to celebrate and the boy I was seeing surprised me with a ring. It was attached to a card around the next of a Teddybear. It was my first piece of "real" jewelry. I still have that little heart ring in my jewelry box.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely fun!!! Love the instructions since I have birthday parties all the time for my daycare!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite birthday was my 40th - my dh bought me a brand new car - Woo!!! :)
Thank you so much for sharing the tutorials for these!!!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite birthday was my last birthday (just two weeks ago)! I spent the whole day with my three favorite guys, my husband Eric and my two sons Zach & Luke. We watched movies, had cake & ice cream, played board games and then they surprised me with a new puppy.... that my youngest named Gizmo!!!!
What a wonderful birthday!!!

They put a big floppy hat on me and sing to me and then.......the whip cream pie in the face....
Those are soooo adorable!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite birthday was when I was in second grade and received my first bike with training wheels. I still love to ride (at age 51) and feel like a kid again with the wind blowing through my hair.
ReplyDeleteMy favourite birthday was last year, my 5 yr old granddaughter and daughter made birthday cupcakes and my son in law BBQ'd on the deck (In December) and we had a lovely meal and party.
ReplyDelete(P.S. I love the Dots, Stripes and Plaid and have not been able to find it in stores so I really would love to win it!)
Love those party hats! I'm have to try it for the next kid b-day party. My favorite b-day was my 10th ...there was a blizzard 2 days before the party. So my mom contacted the parents to say bring extra clothes...we had a BBQ in the snow! She grilled burgers and hotdogs while we kids played in the snow! It was my first boy-girl party too.
ReplyDeleteMy most memorable birthday was a birthday party I held for one of my daughters 9th birthday. (I'm going to date myself here, lol) when we made Michael Jackson gloves complete with rhinestones!!! I love the new DCWV line with the dots, stripes and plaids! TFS, Mary M

My favorite birthday was my 22nd. My husband & I had only been dating for a month and I knew I was falling really hard for him but wasn't sure how hard he was falling for me until he gave me a beautiful (and expensive) necklace for my birthday. I knew than that he had fallen as hard as I had. We married 6 months later and 32 years later he is still my soul mate!
ReplyDeleteLove the hats and party favors. These would be perfect for my grandkids parties. My favorite birthday was a recent one. When I turned 60 I finally broke down and let my family have a party for me. I was speechless when I saw the number of family and friends that came to celebrate with me.
ReplyDeleteYay. I think I'm going to make some just to practice. Maybe my bunco girlfriends will wear them. Haha I love birthdays! It's a celebration of each persons birth. Love it.

Does it count if my favorite birthday wasn't mine? I'd have to say that my son's 2nd birthday was the best one. We had it at one of those inflatable bouncy places, and I made it Elmo themed: cake, decorations, invitations (all with the help of my Cricut, except the cake, did that on my own). My son had so much fun and the pictures are great. His grandparents were there to share the day and everyone had a blast! But my birthday is next week, and I'm going to the Cricut Stampede this weekend to celebrate!
ReplyDeleteThis is a fabulous paper line. My favorite birthday was my 30th when my husband was so sweet to surprise me by getting a cake, ice cream, balloons and having a few of my close friends to our house to celebrate. It was a lot of fun and very special because it was all planned by him!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the instructions. I have a bday coming up soon for my grson and I certainly have plenty of paper to choose from! LOL
ReplyDeleteHope to say hi at Scrapbook USA next week if you are in the booth!
Cute hats and cones...that paper is perfect for scrapping birthday pics too! My fave birthday memory is when my SIL had her twins on my birthday. They were born about 4 weeks early, so it was quite a surprise!! They're almost 17 now!!!!! But as cute as they were the day they were born! :-)
ReplyDelete~Sharon C.
I love this line it's adorable. My favorite birthday was my sons 2nd party. It was a circus theme. We had 6 different carnival games and a popcorn and hot dog stand. Everyone had an awesome time
ReplyDeleteGina
This would be so cute for my Godson's upcoming 2nd birthday! MY favorite birthday? At 55, any of them prior to my 50th! LOL! Probably the best was when I was flown from St. Louis to Kansas City for an evening of dinner and a theatre show and back home again by 2am! Whew!
ReplyDeleteIt was my son's 8th BD. We left secret messages at night on 8 boys doorsteps with a black ninja hat, a letter inviting them on a secret mission, and their own secret code name-all words meaning darkness, and told to wear black. Party day they had a "hunt" following rhyming about Ninja training and clues that took them in teams of 2 in different directions to 5 of their own homes (prearranaged) to collect a small treat and then get and follow their next clue, ending up back at our house. Pizza Party (Ninja turtle style - it was the late 80'x), gift bags with plastic ninja swords, throwing weapons, black belts, etc. Pix of all the Ninja's in the tree house! They were the talk of our DeRidder, Louisianna neighborhood.
ReplyDeleteThose party hats are too cute!! My favorite B'Day would have to be my sweet sixteen!! That was sssooo many years ago!!!!
ReplyDeleteHappy Crafting!!!

Oh, wow, this table setting is so cute! Thank you for the tutorial, Erin! One of my favorite birthday's was having a wonderful day and evening with my family....my daughter, who will probably see this, wink, wanted to put my age in numbers on the cake....I am not even a grandma yet. I opted for the regular version of non-age specific candles. Thank you for honoring you Mom's wishes, my dear daughter!
ReplyDeleteOh SO FESTIVE!!! I LOVE it!!! This paper just makes me smile!!!

ReplyDeleteMy favorite birthday memory was my 30th - I didn't even realize all my friends from graduate school even knew it was my birthday, let alone my 30th (tried to hide it as I was older than most of them) and they threw me a surprise party complete with ice cream cake. I was very touched that they went through all of this effort for me. I love your paper collections - especially your mat stacks! Thanks for the chance to win!

THose hats are so cute! And a chimpanzee???? Oh my! I really don't remember most of my birthdays, but the one that does stand out was when I turned 13 and my mom threw me a boys/girls party. Who would of thought?
ReplyDeleteVery cute!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite birthday party as my DS's second, a "messy party" where the kids got to finger paint, play in the hose, decorate their own cakes with squiggle gel, and decorate shirt with hand prints.
It is details like these party items that set the mood so special. When I was like 12 or 13 my parents took me to the Memphis Fair for my bithday. We spent the day enjoying all the fair sights and sounds just the 3 of us while my brothers stayed at my grandparents.
ReplyDeleteThanks for giving the directions for these projects! I would say my best birthday was my 50th! My husband and friends had a small surprize party and I was actually SURPRISED!! It was a blast! Made turning the big 50 not so bad after all!!

My all-time favorite birthday had to be my 21st...my husband proposed in the car and as we kissed, a policeman came to see what we were up to, then, when we got back to my apartment, my husband locked himself out of his car and his dad had to come help him get in.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite birthday story was my husband's 30th birthday celebration where I surprised him with a trip to Vegas! Thanks for a chance to win another great prize!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite one was when I was in the 1st grade. Being an October Baby my parties were always about Halloween and I love them. Thanks for the instructions. My favorite birthday was when I turned 8 and got my first brand new bike.
ReplyDeleteLove this idea!!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite birthday wasn't mine, but my daughters. My mom was a Jehovah's Witness so I didn't get any big birthday parties growing up. So when my daughter turned one, we did it up right :) She was of course into the Elmo of it all, so I got the elmo cake pan and made a cake, and also made a bunch of little cupcakes frosted with red "fur" and orange jelly bean noses and made them look like little Elmo faces. This was her first time ever having cake!! She loved every second and it was a great day with friends :)
This year, as she turns two in a couple weeks, we're keeping it a little more low key and taking her to the zoo with a few friends and a cookie cake and I can't wait!
My birthday is July 5th ... so there are always LOTS of parties around that time ... but my favorite birthday was when I turned 35 ... I was a caddy for my boyfriends golf tourney and he finished in 3rd place! We celebrated w/ a bottle of wine and a fabulous dinner!
ReplyDeletemy fav b-day (so far, hehehe) was my 45th :-) My family threw a Surprise Party for me complete with family, friends and a farm theme...perfect, Thanks Family! and Thanks for a chance to win!
