Oh how I love our stack-a-holics :)

Some of you super sleuths were on the joann.com website and found some BRAND NEW stacks on sale for $9.99 but guess what, there were no pictures with them!! Now that would drive any stack-a-holic to the loony bin so I thought I would help ya out :)

Tis the Season Paper Chain

I hope everyone had a fabulous Thanksgiving and has somewhat recovered from the holiday!!! I had a horrible time waking up this morning!!! Must still be in a turkey coma from the leftovers :) But I am so happy because now I can "officially" feel good about decorating and getting ready for Christmas!!! I can't wait to show you all of the fun things that I have been doing with our current holiday stacks!!!

So one of our family traditions is making a paper chain countdown for the anticipation to Christmas Day. Yesterday when we had some friends over for dinner, I broke out the Tis the Season Stack because I knew the kids would love making a craft! I used the 180 sheet value stack so the papers were a bit thinner.  I cut the pieces to 1.5 x 6 inches. You can use a stapler to create the chain or use mini glue dots.

 

 

I tied a chunky piece of ribbon at the top so I would have something to hang it by.

The boys get to switch off days, each taking a turn tearing off a piece of the paper chain. I have the best memories doing this when I was little. Of course, our chain was made out of thin construction paper and not this darling printed paper....LOVE the Santa and Reindeer prints :)

There is nothing like carrying on a tradition. Life is good!!!

Sizzix Triple Play Blog Hop Week 4: Amber Autumn Place Card

Happy Thanksgiving!! I hope everyone is having a gorgeous day full of love and FOOD!!!

Today is one of my favorite days of the year!! There is nothing like a big, yummy, traditional Thanksgiving dinner! And when you are stuffed to the max, there is nothing better than laying in bed with your laptop and blog hopping!! 

Week 4 of the Sizzix Blog Hop is already here!

So for our 4th project, I had to use the Frame and Frame Back 3D Pro Die. This is such a fun, versatile die!! I think you could use it for SO many different things! In honor of today's big holiday, I wanted to turn my little frame (about 5x5 inches) into my place cards for our Thanksgiving dinner. I used the gorgeous Amber Splendor Stack that is available at Michael's right now. Love the beautiful foil accents! I had to add a little May Arts ribbon of course! I love how they turned out. You have to keep place cards easy since you are usually making so many of them!! For our Thanksgiving this year, we needed 23!!

Chalkboard Wall: Thanksgiving

I have had some emails asking to post some pictures of my chalkboard wall all dressed up for Thanksgiving!  So as I finish up my last minute Thanksgiving preparation, I thought I would share!

(FYI-I call my boys "my nuggets")

I love how when you walk in my front door, the first thing you see is my wall of creativity!! Makes me happy!!

A little gratitude...

Thanksgiving is just a few short days away!! Today, I am making cute place cards with the Amber Autumn Stack & grocery shopping for my assigned Thanksgiving traditional dishes. I love all of the planning that goes into Thanksgiving Day!! It really is one of my favorite days of the year!

All month I have been trying to feel grateful every single day for everything that I have!

You all know, I am the first to tell EVERYONE that I work for the {best company in the world} who values their employees and especially their customers. In this day, this is a HUGE deal when lots of companies are only looking out for themselves. I wanted to share the following email that we received from a customer...I think it really says something about the company that I work for and call my family!!

 Dear DCWV team,

Last week my wife purchased a DCWV HOME removable Vinyl Lettering kit..."The Fondest Memories Are Made When Gathered around the Table" at the Sarasota (Fla) Kohl's store.
She couldn't wait for me to get it on the wall over the dinning room table prior to the 25+ relatives coming over for this up coming Thanksgiving holiday! While attaching it to the wall, it just looked totally wrong.  It wasn't my workmanship but the "letters" in the first part of the phrase.  EVERY letter was crooked, and or, tilted to the left or right...even some higher or lower than the (imaginary) line of level. I located your company web site and the telephone number.  When I called and explained the problem I was transferred to a lady by the name of "Christine". She was, to say the least, ........"Outstanding". She understood the problem and told me she'd ship a new one out to me, which should arrive a couple of days prior to the holiday. It arrived the NEXT day, as she over nighted it to me via FedEx. I was totally shocked when it arrived so quickly! I took down the old one that evening and replaced it with my new one within thirty minutes. It looks ..."Wonderful"............now!!! Thanks you for having such an understanding and reliable employee as Christine!! People like her are why you have "repeat" customers.......like my...... WIFE!! Again, thank YOU and YOUR employee(s).........for being fair and just...good people!

P.S. She even stuck a little Christmas tree wall decal for the NEXT holiday!

When I read this email, I felt a huge sense of {gratitude} for the company that I am blessed to work for!!! My job is in my top 3 biggest blessings in my life! I hope when you choose to purchase our products, you always have in the back of your head that we are a company is grateful for YOU and will always make sure you are taken care of!

Another, Monday is here! Crazy how that happens :)

What did you do with your 2 1/2 days of weekend bliss?? Mine was full of eating out at yummy restaurants, best friends, college football, spending time with my parents & brother and putting up my Christmas decorations!! That last one is so much work but I am SO HAPPY when it's all done! I will show you my Gingerbread Man tree soon :)

So I have been busy working on some {amazing digital photo books} for our digital side, 300dpi.com! Ahh, can I say digital Street Lace, Black Current books just to name a few??! They are coming and will be SUPER popular I'm sure!! While I can't show you "yet"....I do want to show you a cute way that I wrapped some of my Christmas gifts with our papers! I had a jewelry party and offered "free gift wrap" for the purchases and I wrapped jewelry up all night long!

I think this green & red print is my favorite from the stack....at least ONE of my favorites :)


I am LOVING these prints from the Christmas Value Stack from Jo-Anns right now!!
This "sour cream container" idea has been around for years and here is a great tutorial for it if you have never made them before. I just love the modern look that these have with this great papers!! This stack is SUCH a great deal! On sale for $9.99 right now-180 sheets of paper?! Love!!

So for our 3rd project, I had to use the Flower, Beauty Bloom, Die. I didn't put it together the usual way...I rolled pieces, folded pieces...and used lots of hot glue :) Oh how I love my hot glue gun! I used a printed cardstock from the Colorful Life Stack and mustard and rust colored felt. I love the mixed textures of the paper and felt. Felt just feels like fall to me!! And break out those denim jackets...they are BACK this fall :)

I hope everyone had a fabulous weekend!! I feel like I have been celebrating my birthday for 4 days! I think it is finally over so I want to say a big THANK YOU for all of your sweet wishes!! I loved reading all of your "when I was 29 or where I want to be at 29" comments. Many of them made me teary eyed!! I love how the simple craft of paper crafting can connect people and can give us SO MANY friends!!

Well, the 29th of May will be my golden birthday in a couple of years. I am 24 now, so I have a few years to go...but I am hoping to have my own scrapbooking store by then. This has been my dream for so long!

I wanted to share one of the MANY projects that I am creating for an upcoming TV segment in Utah about creative ways to use scrapbook paper in your holiday gift wrapping. I have had so much coming up with ideas for this!!! I love this first idea....

I cut tons of strips of paper into 1/2 inch x 12 inch strips. I used heavy adhesive to connect the ends to make a circle.

Then I put a dot of adhesive on the inside of the paper and pressed down in the center to make a figure 8.

I did this to about 16 strips, layering them as I adhered them together. Punched out a circle and added a button to the center and that was it!

I love wrapping gifts in cheap kraft wrapping paper and decorating the box. So unique and fun!!!

Guess what today is....

My 29th birthday!!! 

One more year to "be in my twenties." I am the youngest chick in my group of best friends so I haven't really had a hard time getting older! I feel so lucky to be where I am in life at the young age of 29!! Wondering what my hubby has planned for the day. Big perk for being born on Veterans Day and being married to a banker...he always gets my birthday off of work!!

So for our 2nd project, I had to use the Twist Cub-3D. I was a little nervous to put the die together, but it was surprisingly pretty easy!!! I love how it folds down flat to fit inside a card and with a quick twist, it pops right up!! I used the new Street Lace Stack to make the cube and a matching card. I think my friend will love the pictures of us on it :)

Hello World...

Hey ya'll! I get to say ya'll because I am a Texan. And a proud one :) Sad my Rangers lost the World Series last night but hey, it was a good effort! I still love 'em!

Like I said yesterday, the next few weeks I will be busy updating some of the samples for our booth at CHA. {Now} is the time to do it because as it gets closer and closer to January, we will have NEW stuff to make samples for and it gets crazy. So now is the time for some re-vamps. I can't wait to see our fresh, new booth in LA at CHA! Oooh fun :)

So I was playing with The Nana's Nursery-Boy Stack...this is still a really popular stack! I love the colors in it, and since I have boys, I love any great papers that can be used for boys.

I love how clean and fresh this page is. Just like a newborn baby! Been a while since I had one of those around the house....I think I have forgotten what it is like!!!

Happy Monday!!! It's a gorgeous day here in Utah....we are holding on to every bit of fall that we can cause the {snow} will be here before we know it!!! Too bad my day consists of work, laundry and work....maybe I will have to take the computer on the porch for some fresh air this afternoon :)

Around the DCWV office, it is BUSY!!! In past years, this has been a little slower time of the year as we are in between industry shows and releases...but we have so many {big} things in the works, it is super busy!!! Here is my "to do" list for booth samples for the CHA booth in January....and these are just the pages that need updating, this isn't even NEW stack pages!! 

I will be sharing lots of stuff on my "to do" list in the weeks to come. It is so fun going back and revisiting my favorite stacks...right now I am playing with Nana's Nursery-Boy....classic! Love the page, I will share tomorrow :)

Big Announcemnet: 

DCWV is participating in our first ever Blog Hop with one of our favorite companies, Sizzix!! It starts on Thursday and I will be posting a new project with DCWV papers and Sizzix dies for the next 8 weeks!
