Guess what today is....
My 29th birthday!!!
One more year to "be in my twenties." I am the youngest chick in my group of best friends so I haven't really had a hard time getting older! I feel so lucky to be where I am in life at the young age of 29!! Wondering what my hubby has planned for the day. Big perk for being born on Veterans Day and being married to a banker...he always gets my birthday off of work!!
So are you ready for Week 2 of the Sizzix Blog Hop??
So for our 2nd project, I had to use the Twist Cub-3D. I was a little nervous to put the die together, but it was surprisingly pretty easy!!! I love how it folds down flat to fit inside a card and with a quick twist, it pops right up!! I used the new Street Lace Stack to make the cube and a matching card. I think my friend will love the pictures of us on it :)
Products used:
DCWV Black Cardstock
May Arts Ribbon
Misc. Rhinestones & Buttons
And just for stopping by the blog today....I want to give away a

ReplyDeleteTurning 29 put me in panic mode (because like you said, last year of my 20s) but then again every bday sends me into panic mode (lol). I spent the day with family and friends enjoying my mothers home cooked food. She still spoils me with my bday meals.
Btw, super cute!!! project!

Happy Birthday to you, Erin! And Happy Birthday to me, too! OK, so it's not my birthday today, but it feels like it with all these amazingly creative projects made with a die that I designed. I love your cube so much! The papers are stunning and the pictures are fun, and you are one awesome designer! I could gush all day, but I especially love the things sticking out from the cube that are revealed when it twists open. Love that!
ReplyDeleteWOW you want me to remember 29 that was a good 8 years ago. I was a Girl Scout Leader and loved doing all kinds of different crafts with my little girls and of corse camping. Most of the time it was their first camping trip for them it was so exciting to help them love the experience!

ReplyDeleteHappy 29th Birthday! It is kind of hard to remember... Its been 9 years since I was 29! I imagine I spent some quality time with my little boys! I remember letting them decorate the top of a cake for me when I was 28...too much sprinkles, frosting, color... Did not do that again! Hope you have a fabulous birthday!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday! I remember my kids being babies and just having bought our first house. Thanks for sharing another fun project!

ReplyDeleteAs for being 29...I am about to turn 41. I remember when I turned 29 I was very upset that 30 was so close, yet looking back, it's nothing compared to being 39, facing 40. But, when you think about it, you are starting to live your 30th year today. Your birthday age signifies that you've completed your 29th year. A mind bender, no? I mean, when we turn one, we've already been alive for a year.
Happy Birthday to you!!
ReplyDeleteI'm only 31, so it wasn't too long ago that I was 29!! It was the best year as I became a mommy to my wonderful son Nicholas!!

ReplyDelete29 is only 5 months away for me. The thought doesn't scare me too much since my husband will be 30 the month before. It's so fun to tease him about how "old" he is. Especially since he is pretty gray already. He's such a good sport.
ReplyDeleteOh and I'm a subcriber. Which reminds me of that Destiny's Child (I think) song call Survivor.
ReplyDeleteHappy 29th Bday! What I remember the most about being 29 was being pregnant with my 2nd child. Thanks for a chance to win.

ReplyDeleteBeautiful! Love your color combo. Happy Birthday! :-)
ReplyDeleteThat cube is beautiful!! Happy Birthday!! I remember telling a friend when I turned 29 that I might as well be turning 30 now since everyone in their 30s who tries to lie about their age picks the age 29, so people might assume I'm lying anyway! lol!

ReplyDeleteWhat was I doing at 29, well now, since I just turned 55 this past Sunday, 29 was a while ago. That year wasn't one of the best of my life, I had planned to be married and have my kids by the time I was 30 and niether of them were happening. Thus 29 and 30 were not great for me. But all that had happened before I turned 40 and now here I am at 55 and just have to wait for grandkids. Not for a little while though LOL!
ReplyDeleteI remember 29 very well..I had a hard time grasping 29. I'm surely an adult now, but without the life experiences of an adult! Part of it was I got married at 29, 3 weeks before my 30th birthday. Now turning 39 in 10 days I feel more comfortable in my shoes..

I had just had my son who couldn't wait to be born. He was born 10 weeks early.
ReplyDeleteLove the colors in the Street Lace Stack. They look great on the Pop up Box. I agree with you about putting the box together. It looked like it would be hard to do but Karen's instructions show how easy it is! It was a fun project to put together.
ReplyDeleteWow 29 seemed like forever ago although it's only been a few years. The things that sticks out the most to me was that was about the time I started scrapbooking. I had started in recipe swaps with my mom & now I try any crafty/scrappy thing I can. The box is really cute and the paper & colors look so great together. Love the Street Lace stack.
ReplyDeletei'm only 25, so when i'm 29 i hope to have a full-time job while all the kids would be in school. love your stacks! :)
ReplyDeleteWhen I was 29 I had not started scrapbooking yet. That would come about 2 to 3 years later.

ReplyDeleteHmm...what do I remember most about being 29...I remember asking myself if I could possibly handle being Mom to 5 kids! I just had my 5th child, and I thought 4 was a challenge. Wasn't sure if adding another one would lead me straight to the doctor, asking for the "happy pills" to help cope with being Mom to so many kids. Boy was I wrong! I wouldn't change a single thing. Sure my husband and I faced and still face lots of challenges with our big family, but the joy my kids bring me; the greater appreciation for everything (because I see things so differently because of them); and the gift of having them in our lives is priceless!
ReplyDeleteAt 29 I was a mom of 2 and expecting my 3rd. Life was hectic, but good!

ReplyDelete29 was eons ago. I was married and had a 10 year old son. I had worked in my job almost 10 years and had been promoted twice so I was doing pretty good for myself. However now that I am retired, DCWV has a very important part of my life. For once in my life, being retired means I can have a hobby and devote time to doing something I want to do for a change. Love scrapbooking and cardmaking especially with DCWV (my fav). You never have enough and have become a paperholic.
