Monday is the best day to get organized. My office needed some SERIOUS love today, and it got some! I have a little OCD in me and can't be completely creative in chaos. So I have had to figure out smart ways to get everything in order. When I travel, the most often asked question is, "How do you organize your stacks?" I know there are quite a few "Stack-a-holics" out there so here is my tip of the day. I stand mine on my shelf (if you don't have an exclusive scrapping space, you could stack them in a closet or on the floor on top of each other.) On the glued edge of the binding, I simply label the name of the stack with a Sharpie, that way I know exactly where my "Hippie Chic" stack is at all times! Simple yet efficient!
As promised, I am going to do a giveaway today! To be eligible in the contest, simply answer my question with your comment and I will do a drawing for the lucky fan! The prize will be 2- 12x12 stacks of your choice, including stacks from the brand new CHA release! So here is the question:
"If you could have your dream crafting home studio, what one thing would you HAVE to have in it?"
I will share my answer on Wednesday when the contest ends! Good luck & have a Happy Monday! Off to make {Potato & Leek Pizza} from my favorite Pioneer Woman cookbook!!

One thing I would love love love to have is a wall unit just for my PP so I can have it properly organized in color, theme etc. :) ahhh to dream
ReplyDeleteI would like one of those large storage units that opens up into a huge wall of shelves and a desk. It'd be great to be better organized!
ReplyDeleteA great big desk with lots and lots of shelves and cubbies to keep all my stuff organized and cute. Also a room with windows lol
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of writing the names on the sides of the paper stacks like that!
ReplyDeleteAt this point considering my storage is rubbermaid bins... (ha) Id be happy with some sort of nice storage unit to store everything decently, Ive never really looked into things because I won't have more room until we buy a new house so I can't be overly specific.
i would have to have a bigger desk so i could spread out even more.. i take up so much room and being able to spread out more would be awesome!
ReplyDeleteLight, lots of natural light. My craft area is in the basement with a flourescent overhead light. I also have several incandescent lamps on the table that take up my valuable space!
ReplyDeleteOne thing I would have to have is storage. My space now has very little storage. I'd like a whole wall of shelving just for paper.
ReplyDeleteThe one thing i would have to have is WINDOWS! Lots of windows! I can store my stash in boxes if i have to but i just can't seem to be creative in the tiny room i have now with one small window!
ReplyDeleteSo i work at my dining room table and walk back and forth! I call it scrapper-cise! LOL
I would love a giant table so I could leave everything out and not have to drag everything from my room to the kitchen table.
ReplyDeleteI would have to have my cricut! and Lots of PAPER!!!
ReplyDeletethe one thing i would absolutely have to have in my scrapping space would be my farm house table to work on. I inherited my dads last july when he passed away and it is the most awesome work space i've ever had. I absolutely love the new "Madly in love" stack, it's absolutely beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI would have a room with tables all around with plenty of storage so I could invite my sister and/or friends over to scrap. Having to pull everything out and pack it back up when I want to do anything is a pain. So just having a room would be awesome. Then I'd have to say having my Cricut set up to use at ease would be a necessary!
ReplyDeleteDenise
A larger smooth, continuous workspace with plenty of perfectly sized storage below that will actually accommodate 12x12 materials!
ReplyDeleteI would love a wall that had 12x12 transparent slots so I can put my layouts on them. I like to view my layouts for a while before putting them in an album.
ReplyDeleteso wierd that your topic today was how to organize stacks....I have been brainstorming all day trying to come up with a solution to my ever-expanding chaos! What a great idea to label the spines. I'm getting busy tomorrow!
ReplyDeleteIF I had a separate craft area (right now it's the dining room table) I would love to have plenty of storage units so everything would have a home. I need to get organized!
My fingers are crossed for the drawing! I LOVE DCWV!!!!!!!!
Lots and lots and lots of shelves. I'd also like to have some horizontal bars to hang punches and rolls of ribbon from.
ReplyDeleteI would love to have more storage space! The room I have has plaster walls, so it it very difficult to hang anything!
ReplyDeleteWell besides having my own crafting room instead of a tiny nook...my dream would be to have lots of organizing cabinets with lots of room for organizing bins and at least 2 large desks to spread my creativity on! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm torn between two. An Ikea Expedit and a sofa bed. The Expedit would be great to store all my scrapbook stuffs, and the sofa bed would be great for me to just plop down when I'm all pooped out scrapping.
ReplyDeleteI would love a counter-height workspace so I could stand and craft instead of always sitting at my desk.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely a wall unit to hold all the different papers, with cubes to sort everything out. Must have easy access! I currently have a corner of the family room and my paper stash is about to explode with the new stacks being released!
ReplyDeleteA big table or a work desk. I don't have one so I have to rely heavily on crops.
ReplyDeleteKim3278(at)sbcglobal(dot)net
I would like to have a lot of storage and a lot of things to put in there :)
ReplyDeleteI would love to have some cubbies that fit all of the boxes I bought! They are about a 1/2" too wide for the Ikea cubes :(
ReplyDeleteI would love to have a really big table so I could scrap with my friends!
ReplyDeleteFirst and foremost, I would need an actual space. If I had that I would definitely want to have lots of storage to keep my creative chaos somewhat under control.
ReplyDeleteI love the idea for writing on the spines. I will definitely be copying this when I have a shelf to put mine on.
I do the same thing with my stacks! I would have to have (and really want now) a self-healing mat that covers my entire table. Oh, that would be heaven!
ReplyDeleteAssuming I got that dream-space, I would -- of course -- have a work table and chair. But, I think it would also be absolutely necessary to have a comfy chair for reading those scrappin' magazines and dreaming of my next page...
ReplyDeleteI would need a sink! I hate running up and down the stairs to the kitchen just to clean up my stuff or my hands. I dream of a sink!
ReplyDeleteP.S. Thanks for the giveaway! And I love your idea for labeling stacks. It can't believe that I never thought of it before! :)
I have my stacks just like that!!! Oh and winning 2 stacks?! That would be like totally awesome! :o)
ReplyDeleteThe one thing I would love to have in my scraproom is a built in L-shaped desk so that I would have room to scrap and room to put my sewing machines.
If I could have anything I want it would be a counter the could take major abuse, had a hole in it on one end to sweep garbage into and lots of storage underneath. My room is so small I have a hard time working.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the stacks! Just got Madly in Love, love the skulls! HA! I have a studio. It needs shelves and cubbies and to look cute like a scrap studio should. I NEED the original Scrapbox. That is a stunning piece of furniture that is the ultimate in organization! I'm saving for it!!! :)
ReplyDeleteI would love to have a large storage unit to keep all my supplies close at hand but be able to see what I have. I often buy duplicates because I can' find what I alredy have!
ReplyDeleteA humongous, gigantic, U-shaped worksurface (like one of those "wraparound" desks but bigger)!
ReplyDeleteglutenfreebay (at) gmail (dott) com
Storage!Storage!Storage!Cute cubbies to hold all of my scrapping treasures, and yet show them off a little, hee he.
ReplyDeleteLots of open shelving so that I can see everything while I craft!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the awesome giveaway!!
A storage unit that covers one whole wall that would hold everything in it's own place!!
ReplyDeleteit would have to have an ENORMOUS counter top/island. i like to stand when i scrap and i tend to spread out!
ReplyDeleteI have a great scraping area (room), but what I would like is better lighting.
ReplyDeleteLight! I can't scrap unless I have TONS of light! Windows would be best, but lots of those real light lamps would be awesome!
ReplyDeleteI would want one whole wall to be covered with storage units. I have seen in craft magazines units that take up the whole wall with lots of bins and paper organizers. I would really like to have a place to put everything... ribbon, paper, embellishments, WOODEN STAMPS... all organized and labeled on one wall.
ReplyDeletewell First I would like to have a big table, a comfy chair and lots of storage cabinets, but the one thing it would need to have would be my lap top. So that I can keep up with everything going on in the crafters world.
ReplyDeleteI would like more space to keep all of my paper so that I can sort it by brand.
ReplyDeleteI would want a California Closet custom system with lots of adjustable shelving and drawers with organizers for storing embellishments.
ReplyDeleteAll my storage a large closet that way I can close it up and still look organized. I would love to have a room just for crafting with all sorts of shelves! so they don't have to be stuck in bins
ReplyDeleteI would have to say I would want a large work surface that I could either stand up at or on a bar stool. That is my dream
ReplyDeleteSomeone, on duty @ all times, to put everything away.
ReplyDeleteA HUGE desk with lots of lighting and storage and a little desk for my soon to be crafter!
ReplyDeleteOh, that's an easy one....a table at a height so I don't have to lean over....around 42 inches...
ReplyDeleteJulia Muscari
A desk with lots of drawers and shelves because my current crafting room is my kitchen.
ReplyDeleteJulia Morris
Wow, Just One thing.... what immediately comes to mind is what I'm missing right now - a place to hang my punches. I'd really like that.
ReplyDeleteAnd, the 'punch hanger' would be on a wall that is covered with art and projects that inspire me!
Hope I win! Just LOVE DCWV!
Lovies,
Linda Cary
A shelf that could display all my stamps instead of sitting in my drawers Especially my wooden stamps they would look much better on display, besides I'm obessed with stamps Keep scrappin everyone
ReplyDeleteStephanie Bennett
Wow, That is hard. I have a fair amount of storage, but am always looking for ways to organize my paper. You have given me one very good idea. Thanks and thanks for a chance to win some more paper! Can never have too much paper! maybe that is why it is hard to organize. I would love wooden shelves with lots of slanted shelves to organize my paper.
ReplyDeleteWow, the one thing I would HAVE to have would be built in shelving/counters. I am so disorganized and I would love to be able to have a place for everything to be put away neatly. I do currently have my stacks standing in a vertical file by my feet. I never thought to label them. Duh! :)
ReplyDeleteKim
A door, so that when I am through for the day, I can close the door and leave the creativity, (i.e. mess) exactly where I left off and no one will disturb it or question what I am doing. I could also close the door behind me when I go into the room to have some peace and quiet to create with. I have a 1 and 3 year old in a townhouse so the thought of having a dedicated craft room is divine!!!
ReplyDeleteA comfy chair. I'd love to sit and read scrap magazines for inspiration and I don't have a place to do that.
ReplyDeleteOK I am a confessed stack-o-holic, now that I've got that off my chest ;)
ReplyDeleteOne thing I would LOVE to have in my dream scrap room would be a huge wire/metal paper rack like in the scrapbook stores. I've always wanted some but they are pretty pricey. I've seen some lucky folk who happen upon them when their LSS is closing or remodeling. Oh, I can dream.
I would have to have at least 1 window I can look out of.
ReplyDeleteSomeone to do the crafts!!
ReplyDeleteI recently got a new large scrap room and am trying to get it organized. I have some large tables so that I can have friends over. jlh774 at gmail dot com
ReplyDeleteOoooh, I would love lots of work space so I could really spread out, neatly of course-LOL. Wow, think of all the possibilities!!
ReplyDeleteI would love to have a paper organizer...as of now I scrap in my kitchen and my papers are stacked on a chair or in drawers :(
ReplyDeleteI love the way you organized your stacks. I think the one thing I would like to have is more room. My craft room has slanted wall so it limits my stand up space. But I do feel privlidged to have a spot that I can leave my LO's there and come back and they are still in the same spot,(unless one of my 3 kittys has climbed up on the desk.)Also I would love to have one or 2 or 3 of the new Making Memories organizer shelving units.
ReplyDeleteI love how you organized your stacks. I'm lucky enough to have a scrapbook room but it has bad lighting. It's bright but flouresent bulbs so the color isn't right. I would wish for new lighting to make my scrap room perfect.
ReplyDeleteI would love to have a big farm table covered with a large acrylic mat and more shelving for storage. I wish I would have thought to label my spines....going to do it now!
ReplyDeleteOther than a healthy supply of paper and the top cutting machines I would want a huge work table. I tend to "spread out" when working, so I need lots of space!
ReplyDeleteEnough work space and a trash can. (Gotta be tidy!) Oh and my fabulous ergonomic task chair.
ReplyDeleteI have a pretty great space already, but for my "dream space" I would love to have tons more natural light. There is nothing better for all the wonderful papers than to be able to actually see how they were intended to look!
ReplyDeleteI seem to spread out when I work so, I would wish for a HUGE work area.
ReplyDeleteI think the dream would have to be THE actual crafting studio! At the moment my workspace is in my sleeping quarters and space has started to diminish at an alarming rate with all the papers I collect haha.
ReplyDeleteOne thing that would absolutely need to go in there is a huge supply of paper. :D
A maid to clean up after me.LOL
ReplyDeleteMessy scrapper here!!
Gobs and gobs of pattern paper, of course! DCWV would definitely have to be included.
ReplyDeleteHmmm the thing I would need most is space as it is I have a little corner in my bedroom so no privacy or nothing

A way to store everything that I could actually SEE what I have. Not drawers and cabinets that hide everything that you have so you forget and find it one day and go "oh I could have used this on..."
ReplyDeleteI would love to be able to organize my paper in a way where I could see it all! I would also like to have my Cricut cartridges out on a shelf! :)
ReplyDeleteIn my dream scrapbook room I want a walk in closet bigger than the room, I want to be able to use all of my storage things and have everything have a home so I can walk in...pick and choose and be able to shut the door when I'm done and not have my scrapbook look like a tornado just hit it! Hmmmm...some day!
ReplyDeleteLove the organization of the paper stacks, I have mine standing up as well. In my dream scrap room, I will have lots of space, color coordinated paper stacks of solids and every single DCWV paper stack including Mango Frost, Cafe Mediterranean and Madly in Love, loads of adhesive, really good scissors, tons of stamps, digital stamps and my ipod
ReplyDeleteI would have to have a huge table to work on with shelves or draws underneath. (unfortunately my hubby isn't on board with using my dining room table for the purpose of scrapbooking!!!) LOL
ReplyDeleteI am lucky to have a scrap room that i love! My wonderful husband is in the process of building me another table..island type..and its going to give me all the space i need! In my dream world though it would be all finished and all my other furniture would already be painted and everything already back in its place.
ReplyDeleteA window. My scrap corner is in my basement with no natural light. I would love to be able to look outside and be inspired by nature and what is happening around me.
ReplyDeleteLots of windows...because my room is in the basement as well as some of the other ladies and I end up in the kitchen just so I can have some natural light.
ReplyDeletePatty
I would have to have a really great bay window with a cute little cusioned bench seat, to sit in and dream up great projects! INSPIRATION!!!!
ReplyDeleteI would love to have lots of shelves and drawers. I like everything to have its own space and it's killing me that due to lack of space it's all crammed in boxes and tubs.
ReplyDeleteA big window with lots of great light (but not too much heat from the sun) and a great view. And a window seat underneath (with storage, of course).
ReplyDeleteHey- under the window seat would be a great place to store DCWV stacks! :o)
I would love a work table that was the perfect hight for me to scrap while standing!! LOVE DCWAV stacks!!!!
ReplyDeleteI would have to have color. Whether it's on the walls or in my organizational supplies. Not soft color, bold & bright color.
ReplyDeleteI would love to have a room surrounded by cabinets with counter tops so I have tons of workspace and storage space!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the great giveaway!
ReplyDeletejennifer(dot)arnold11(at)gmail(dot)com
I would have to have lots of open shelves so I could see the products I have so I would use them!
ReplyDeleteI would need a tv and vcr, so I can watch all my sappy love stories and Elvis movies!
ReplyDeleteI would love a big LONG table, with lots of drawers!
ReplyDeleteIt's not so much an ite that I would have as a design feature for the room. I would love it if my craft area was sound proof. I could go in lock the door and be alone with my thoughts.
ReplyDeleteI would love to have a big desk and lot of storage and everything organized. that would be a dream come true!
ReplyDeleteI would like to have a large work area. Either a desk or counter that is very spacious! I like to spread out!
ReplyDeleteI feel lucky enough to have one, but that's why I have to work all the time and not craft!! I really like my huge cube/square table, that we "made" from IKEA stuff.
ReplyDeleteI have my stacks organized EXACTLY like you do - and I write on the binding edge with a sharpie too! I have about 35 stacks - and I love looking at all my pretty stacks (some half used now) nicely labeled and organized that way!
ReplyDeleteI would LOVE a large desk and more space to work in!!! (and some more shelves for my new stacks!!! I just got the Mariposa and LOVE it!!!)
Dolly :)
A very large, dedicated scrapbook work table where I could leave layouts in progress out till I have time work on them again. Oh, and TONS of storage space!
ReplyDeleteI'd love more storage, a bigger desk, and room for computer and sewing machine
ReplyDeleteSo hard to pick just one thing, especially since I only have a scrapping nook. LOL I have to say, though, that if I had my dream scrap room, a MUST have would be two large desks big enough for me and my two girls to spread out and scrap together. They're 9 and almost 7 and both loving scrapping as much as their mommy. We're all DCWV stack addicts, too! My absolute favorite paper! :)
ReplyDeleteLots of color and GREAT lighting!
ReplyDeleteA deep sink with running water!!! I would love this for cleaning up, making handmade paper, and just keeping my messiness confined to one room
ReplyDeleteI love this tip and I am so jealous of those stacks. They are hard to find in Canada so I have to ship some here. I would love a sink in my craft space. We just finished the basement and I got a huge space with built in cabinets and tons of counter space but there is no sink and I have to take things to the bathroom or upstairs to the kitchen when I have some big clean up.
ReplyDeleteThat's a cool tip for storing your paper! My one thing I would have in my craft room is a nice big table to work on! The table I use now is the size of a tv tray :(
ReplyDeletestorage, storage, storage! and display storage too, I have taken over the dining table and usually keep my stash in boxes, I would like it on display so I can see what I have and where it all is! (P.S: I live in the UK, not sure if i'm allowed to enter or not)
ReplyDeleteI would include a tea pot with an assortment of teas to share.
ReplyDeleteGreat tip! I would have to have a HUGE work surface, like a really big table. Right now I work on a tiny laptop desk! :( It would be nice just to have a craft room, period!
ReplyDeleteRoom. I'd like to have a roof large enough that there was plenty of room for my family and friends to join me anytime, as well as house all my crafting needs. That would be my perfect home studio.
ReplyDeleteWhen thinking of something I would absolutely have to have in my scrapbook room would be purple. But then when I think about it, everything I have is purple... my crop-a-dial, my baskets, my containers, my...well everything. So I had to re-visit the question and if I must have something I would have to say my embellishments and glitter. I am the Embellie and Glitter Queen and everyone knows it when they see my work. It is all about the "bling" for me. I can't do anything without it on something that I am working on. To be blessed is to be Creating... Debbie C.
